Personality & Traits
General Overview | She may not be a warrior, but she brings a warrior's passion to all she does. Quitting is a foreign concept to her, though her refusal to admit defeat can get her into trouble. | |
Strengths & Weaknesses | STRENGTHS She has an almost fanatical devotion to her patients, refusing to give up on them when others would. She is good with kids. WEAKNESSES Her devotion to her patients can lead to her working on a patient when there is nothing left to do. Years of abuse, both physical and psychological, have made her a bit paranoid, causing her to see slights and insults when none is intended. She is directionally challenged. |
|
Ambitions | As a doctor, she wants to be the best possible one she can. As a Starfleet officer, she wishes to serve her ship and crewmates to the best of her ability. As a Klingon, she wants to return home and be reunited with her family. |
|
Hobbies & Interests | When she is not studying medical journals, she listens to Klingon opera. Even though she is an exile, she still considers herself a Klingon. She follows the Klingon religion and prefers Klingon food--she finds human food to be too bland--though it has to be made fresh. She does not like replicated versions, though she tinkers with the replicators in a neverending effort for them to make the food right. In her spare time, when she is not studying medical journals, she practices with her bat'leth in a holodeck training program. |
History
Personal History | By the time she was seven, Akuhl knew she was different. Seven is the age in which Klingon children begin their combat training, but she was more interested in healing the injured. This did not sit well with her father, a decorated officer. Already disappointed he had produced a girl, this lowered his opinion of her even further. He tried persuading her to fight, but she refused, so then he resorted to more...intense...methods of persuasion. At the age of ten, when she was assigned an administrative position, this was the final straw. He disowned her, casting her out of his house and leaving her to fend for herself. She may not have been a warrior, but she had a warrior's spirit and did not give up so easily. She continued her education on her own and when she was seventeen, she applied to--and was accepted by--the Vulcan Academy of Science. At the Academy, her living conditions improved but her social ones did not. The Vulcans looked down on her as some sort of aberration and attacked her with their logic rather than their fists. But she persevered and graduated. Still eager to find some place she could not feel so out of place, she applied to Starfleet Academy, hoping the melting pot of different races could help her feel a little less obvious. There she roomed with Allison Michaels, whose family also disapproved of her career choice, and their shared pasts led to a friendship that lasts to this day. |
