History
| Personal History | Thoran was born on Andoria to loving parents. Growing up in a normal Andorian home, he never had to worry about anything. It was at an early age that Thoran learned of his love to fight, something that always got him into trouble. Until one day his father took him to his first MMA class. These lessons helped reign in his erg to fight the other kids in school. He made his parents proud when he won his first title. His father wanted him to pursue a career as a fighter but Thoran had better ideas. When he turned 18, Thoran enlisted in the marines, much to the disappointment of his father and mother. The corps is where Thoran really began to flourish. Being a marine came naturally to him and previously unknown leadership skills began to show themselves. His instructors were so impressed by this that Thoran was recommended for Officer Candidate School. He gladly took the offer and left for OFC right out of basic. There he learned what it meant to be a true leader and how to inspire troops. This is also where he fell in love with studying the commanders of the past and learning from their mistakes. Upon graduation from OFC, Thoran was appointed 2nd Lieutenant. Thoran then spent the next few years attending different specialty schools and honing his skills as a marine, standing out as one of the top five marksmen in his scout sniper class His first year as an officer was quiet. He was stationed in the Galen system with a rifle team under his command. His quiet posting became anything but when the insurrection took place in the system. Thoran was forced to hold his post with the single team he had till help arrive which finally did after a brutal two day siege. Thoran remained with the peacekeeping forces sent to restore order in the Galen system. It was here that he earned his scar on his cheek. His team was clearing a house when an insurgent attacked Thoran from behind. He was able to dispatch the insurgent but not before the man got a lucky cut with a knife on Thoran's cheek. A lesson he learned from very well. During the final push on Galen IV, Thoran saw that a position was about to be overrun and the whole operation was going to fail. Rather than sit and wait for authorization, he gathered the marines under his command, pushed to the isolated post and rallied the defenders. He then personally led the defense of the post, halting the enemy advance. Acting without orders however came back to bite Thoran as he was reprimanded and reassigned after peace had been restored. |
