Thex let out a whistle as she walked along the corridors after another long shift. Now she wanted to get some food and drink in her before relaxing for the rest of her day.
Though as the door opened she gave a smile as she passed Drevas heading the other way. " Hello, my friend day been treating you well?" She enquired.
Drevas smiled down at her. It'd been a while since they last talked; they'd both been busy with matters of their own, talking occasionally by PADD but that was it. Meeting her today was a pleasant surprise, and like always, Thex managed to look good in uniform, as she did in practically anything. "My day has treated me well. How about you?" He asked in Andorian. He himself had wanted to find dinner and maybe something nice to read - but now it seemed that he might just have another to join him.
" Oh, nothing to do just the basic maintenance to make sure this girl runs smoothly.I was about to go and get something to eat and maybe see if I could hit the holodeck." The blue girl replied with a smile on her face.
"Coincidentally, I was thinking the very same thing," Drevas remarked with a chuckle. "Would you mind if I joined you for dinner? I wouldn't want to impose on your holodeck time, however, unless you don't mind." Personal time was personal time after all and he knew how precious it could be - especially to her as an assistant department head.
" I'd love to," Thex said falling in beside Drevas. " Unless you want to get something to eat on the holodeck. We could do both?"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea," Drevas replied with a tired smile. He'd been working hard for the entire day after all. "Have you anything in mind for the program, or what you'd like to eat? If not, I have a few ideas."
" Well," Thex said as she walked at his side down the corridor. " I did offer to show you how an Orion dances. Have you ever tried Orion food? " she inquired.
"Well, no. The thought has never crossed my mind." Dramin admitted. Well, that and he admittedly didn't know any Orion dishes - but that was really secondary. "Though I would be open to it. Do you have any recommendations?"
" I'll replicate you a selection though I will warn you they use a lot of spices on their food. " Thex replied with a smile as they reached the holodeck. Finding one was free Thex booked it and stepped inside. "Computer load the green sea and give a selection of Orion food on the buffet table," they said as the blank room vanished to be replaced with an Orion dancing hall. The furniture looked very clearly Orion with lots of cushions and transparent cloth dangling from the ceiling. The main amount of space in the hall was the giant wooden dancing stage. " Nice isn't it?" Thex said to her friend.
"I'll admit that I've never been inside an Orion dance hall before," Drevas murmured as he admired the simplicity of the furnishing around him. Somehow there was an air of sensuality to it all, with the abundance of comfortable cushions around them, tastefully coloured cloth drapes that hung from the ceiling and even the dancing stage that sat front and center of the entire room for maximum enjoyment of all guests. The heavily spiced scent of Orion fare that sat nearby on the buffet table only lent to the atmosphere. "But it is lovely indeed."
"I am dying, however, to sample the food. And to see you dance." Drevas added with a slight smile. "Did your mentor at the Academy introduce you to all of this?"
" Indeed she did. " Thex said as she lead the way to a large buffet table. " She loved her people and her culture and she hates what the syndicate has done to it. Do you know they've been destroying Orion's history book and sisters since before humans ever got into space?" She asked as she helped herself to a plate of dark red soup.
The leg of meat that Drevas sampled was an odd shade of yellow, skin to bone. Weird. When he bit into it an intensely spiced flavour assaulted his senses, making him draw a sharp breath and blink hard. "It's good." He concluded, "If very, very intense. If the meat is like this I am dying to know what the rest of this spread is like."
He turned his attention back to her story afterwards, though. "Why would the Syndicate want to mar its own history? The history of its own members?"
" They want to remove all traces that there was an Orion before they came into power. " Thex explained as she drank her soup before collecting some more fried vegetables. " Many years ago the Orion civilisation suffered a collapse which lead them to gain power. Many in the syndicate would prefer that fact to be forgotten. "
Drevas made a noise that was half grunt of disgust, half huff. "What a shame. The Orion people's history deserves to live, regardless of what the Syndicate may think. Did she ever try to take steps to promote her culture to others? Aside from you of course. A cultural exchange would be lovely, for one."
"She does, but given she works with Starfleet intel she is away from federation space for a long amount of time. I hope she's okay I've not heard from her in several years." the blue girl replied as she had a few meatballs.
"Intelligence officers simply have to work as such - usually without much contact with loved ones, such is the nature of their duties. I'm sure she is well." Drevas had been ploughing through samples of dish after dish while talking; admittedly he loved every single one of them, though he probably wouldn't have ordered most of them more than twice. Wowee, even he had a spice tolerance and some of them were pushing that boundary a little too much!
"Well then." He plopped down on a sofa, which seemed to be made of some kind of luxuriously soft leather. "I am eager to watch you dance - I'm sure you'll put on a splendid show."
"Drevas you're looking at the best Orion-trained Andorian in the galaxy. Mainly because I think I'm the only one. " The blue girl replied with a grin. " Animal woman or blade dancer?" She enquired as she headed for the steps up to the stage.
"Um." Drevas' ears turned pink hearing that question - almost as if she wanted him to pick the obviously racier option. Clearly, he had one option in mind but knew better than to say it out loud. "Choose the one you think I'll like the best." He decided at last. He hadn't picked an option for her; rather, he'd allowed her to decide while also hinting at what he might've liked. A suitable middle ground.
"Animal woman it is then?" Thex said with a wink as she disappeared behind one of the curtains. With a few taps of a console, she had her dancing outfit beamed from her quarters.
She smiled as she disrobed placing her uniform and underwear in a box and shook her hair loose from its ponytail.
She smiled as she picked up each piece of her outfit feeling the delicate cool metal in her hand before sliding it onto her body. Each piece was moulded to fit her like a glove so that even moving she couldn't feel them.
She wondered where the Orion who had helped her with this and her life was. She hoped she was all right.
After spreading some sparkling body paint on her arms and legs she pushed taking a look at herself in the mirror. She smiled. She looked great and was ready to go. " Computer activate playlist Thex 355." She added as she headed for the stage.
Admittedly Drevas had blushed hotly as she shot that playful wink his way and disappeared behind the curtains of the stage. He admittedly hadn't expected her to take so well to the way he'd phrased his answer - but now that she had, there was no turning back. Not that he was complaining at all, mind.
He knew that the performance was about to begin when soft, sensual music began to play on unseen speakers. Thex emerged from the wings then, and the air was sucked from his lungs as his jaw hit the floor. Wow. Thex had the ability to look good in anything, yes, but in this outfit, made up of artfully crafted gold pieces that circled her curves so well it hurt. Hell, in that getup, she simply oozed allure and sultriness, and she hadn't even started dancing yet. His cheeks felt hot, as did the entirety of his face, really, simply admiring her from a distance like he was doing.
With a thud, the beat of the music started just as Thex reached the centre of the stage. Two Orion dancers materialised beside her as with another new thud of music the dance started. Her sapphire form began to move intertwined with the music. Every sway of her hips, her arms and her legs would draw one's eyes as she moved in ways one would think an Andorian body couldn't. Nainaa would have been proud of how her pupil had mastered the art of her people's most famous/infamous dance.
Every movement of hers was curated carefully to draw the eyes and highlight the natural beauty of the dancer, almost oozing sexuality in its own way. Hell, even if the other two Orions hadn't been there just Thex dancing alone made for an incredibly sensual, captivating performance that Drevas would've been content to watch forever - well, maybe not forever considering it wasn't possible. As much as he tried hard not to stare too hard at her it was harder still to ignore the slowly growing excitement in his lower half, which he had to cross his legs to hide - which only made it even more obvious, really.
The Andorian sapphire girl kept on dancing focusing on the music and the beat as it picked up in pace. Thex would make the Orions who first danced the animal woman style proud that an alien could dance like the best masters from Orion's systems.
As the beat neared its climax her moves seemed to increase in speed as she kept in twin with the beat. Her hands drifted up her body running her figures through her white hair her body still moving like magic.
As the thud of the song ended a smile was on her face as she struck her end pose looking over at the kelpian. " I talked about it you like it?" She said seeing his very bad attempt to hide his erection.
"Yes. Yes, I did." Drevas managed, as soon as he'd managed to pick his jaw off the floor, so to speak. "You dance wonderfully, Thex. Your mentor would be proud of you for representing her culture so beautifully." He blushed hotly. At this point hiding his excitement had become something of a futile endeavour, really; the last few minutes of her performance had been some of the most captivating.
" And I don't need Orion's pheromones to make you say that. Not bad for an Andorian engineer raised by dooms day cultists" She said as she walked to the edge of the stage the Orion holograms vanishing as she did so. " Toss me one of the beers?" She asked gesturing her head to the buffet table.
Drevas did, not too hard so that it wouldn't hit her in the face. "Indeed." He sat down on one of the lounge chairs, leaving ample space for her to sit beside him. "Join me?" He smiled at her.
Thex smiled as she slid off the stage and using one of the species of jewellery opened the beer bottle before taking a long swing. Sitting down she let out a happy sigh as relaxed into the chair. " Ah can remember the first time I wore this. Terrifying beyond imagining."
"Under audience scrutiny? I imagine it must have felt like dancing naked." Drevas remarked. "Though I trust it went better than expected? Seeing as you are sitting here next to me now, wearing it like it was made for you."
" It did. Felt like everyone's eyes were on me and could see I was an out-of-her-depth Starfleet officer and not a trained dancer. Still ended the day ended with one of the Orion syndicates leaders putting his foot well and truly in his mouth." She replied with a grin on her blue face.
"Oh? Please, do tell me more - if you're open to it, of course." Drevas seemed to perk up a little bit, amber eyes shifting to her gleaming with interest. "Or if you can - I understand some missions are kept under wraps quite well." After a brief pause he added, "Oh, his expression must have been priceless."
" Well luckily for you it was declassified as the idiots currently rotting in cryo. " Thex replied with a grin. " I've told you about my mentor. Well, one of my first assignments was to be the tech girl of one of her operations against one of the syndicates. It sounds far more glamour than it was. For most of the mission, i was in the safe house running all the tech. Anyway, the team gets this new bug. Could record all conversations in a crowded marketplace and isolate them all. Well, they install it in the dancing hall which is the favourite meeting place of one of the syndicate higher-ups. Only something goes wrong and I can't get it to send the data. So being the tech girl they get me dressed up in this and get me on the stage. "
Pausing to take a swig of her beer the blue girl continued " After a while, I start blending into the other dancers and slip away to check on the bug. Turns out Intel had put the batteries the wrong way. So after correcting it and returning it to its hiding place i start heading back to backstage. Only for some half-drunk Orion to slap my ass. I don't know how i didn't break character and flatten him, but i kept my cool. Then the team back at the safehouse start screaming at me to not touch my ass. Turns out the Orion was the son of the syndicate leader and he'd gotten his figure prints all over my outfit. Within minutes of me making it back to the safe house, we had access to his bank accounts and other accounts. We had the syndicate at each other throats within two days. A month later Starfleet intel had managed to arrest most of the higher-ups. All because one Orion couldn't keep his hands to himself. "
Drevas tried not to laugh - he didn't want to play up the stereotype of 'Orion dude stupid - but the smile that cracked its way across his lips betrayed him in the end. "Amusing." He commented. "And I am proud of you for taking it as well as you did on that mission - I honestly don't know how I'd have done in your shoes." Horribly, presumably, considering he wasn't a woman. "It'd take the bravery of a Kelpien past vahar'ai to pull it off, I'd even say."
" I don't know what a vahar'ai is, but thanks," Thex replied with a smile on her face. " After that, I realised there is nothing I can't do if I put my mind to it."
"Vahar'ai is a rather painful process I'll tell you about another time," Drevas replied with a tiny smile. "I don't want to ruin the mood. "And so from then on you worked hard to get here - which I am proud of you for doing." With her sitting so close to him it was somewhat difficult to not admire her and the way the costume highlighted all her curves perfectly - making the task of hiding the boner he'd had since the start of her performance a little harder. "Well. Have you any other plans for the night? The night is still quite young..."
" Well....." Thex said moving slightly to her side so she could get a better look at Drevas. She'd never been with a kelpian before. Just as she was about to reply an alert bleeped from the holodeck. " Thex can you get down to engineering we have a fault with the subspace transponder." Letting out a sigh the Andorian gave an apologetic look to her Kelpian friend. " Sorry Drevas looked like the universe has other plans." She said standing up and calling for the arch. Looking back at him she gave him a warm smile. "Next time I'll show you how a blade dancer dances ."
"I'd like that." Drevas could feel his cheeks burn as she stood and prepared to exit the holodeck. "Though I don't think you should go wearing that costume, as eye-catching as it is."
Thex laughed clicking her figures as she did so her outfit being replaced with the standard engineering jumpsuit. " I'll see you later." She said as she hurried out of the holodeck.
