Mission:
General Sim Postings
Location: Holodeck A
Maggie was always looking to change up her workout routine. Normally, she ran miles on the treadmill. She liked to sweat. but more importantly, she liked to FEEL.
However, since she wasn't allowed to fly OR run until her concussion healed, she had to do lower-impact exercises. Today, she was going to swim. But not in the pool, she liked to swim in real bodies of water. Lacking that, a holoprogram would suffice. She made her way to holosuite A, and started the program-LeFSeine8. The Seine river, from her childhood home on Earth.
She was wearing a swimsuit-normally, she'd be in a bikini but since this wasn't exactly a social call, she went for her Fleet issued PT suit-red and black one piece that indicated that she was a fighter pilot.
Thex had finished her shift and was as normal trying to get in some R&R. Seeing one of the holodecks was free the blue girl headed down to the decks. As she stepped out the holodeck she noticed the human woman in the fleet-issued PT suit. " Hello there. Lieutiant LeFebvre isn't it? " She enquired.
Maggie smiled. "Yes, that's me!! Care to join me? I am going to swim in the Seine," she said. "Well. Hopefully. Sometimes it's very cold," she said. She'd set the hologram for the "spring" setting, but spring in Paris could vary in temperatures. "I am from just outside of Paris, on Earth," the blonde said, stripping down to her swimsuit. She had very little qualms about her body in general. She smiled. "You are welcome to swim, or just sit around and be a tourist." She dove expertly into the water, blonde braid floating on the water's surface. It was nice. Chilly, but not too cold.
" Sure sounds like fun." Thex said as she followed the Parisian inside. She'd not seen much of Earth during her days at the academy, but she had spent some time at the fleets foreign language office learning federation basics and learning to write.
=/\= Computer load Thex outfit swim seven. =/\= she called as her uniform de replicated and was swapped with a a matching black bikini and boyshort with a pink trim. Like Maggie she had very little qualms about her body and with the skill she'd put into creating her blue figure she dove into the water beside her
Maggie began her usual swim routine-breaststroke for several yards, then she'd switch to butterfly to not overtax herself. She usually did a freestyle/float around, too, just to relax in the water. She really SHOULD have done Cetacean Ops or something, because she just loved the water. "It's a bit chilly, so be careful!" Maggie shouted to Thex. "But you're probably used to it?" Didn't Andorians like the cold?
" Compared to home this is nothing. " Thex replied as she enjoyed the blue water. The blue girl moved so naturally one would think she was born in water. It had always been a sense of calm for her. " Did you swim here often?" Thex enquired.
Maggie smiled. "Tell me about Andoria," she said, as she dove under the water, kicking her legs expertly. When she surfaced, she continued. "I have never been there, but I dated an Andorian for a bit. He says it's very cold, covered in ice." She said.
" Oh, it is mostly covered in ice. There are great valleys carved out by thermal springs which most life clings to. Not that I've seen much of it. " The andorian replied as she floated onto her back.
Hmm.
"Why not?" The Blonde asked as she expertly skimmed through the water, head turning back and forth as she swam. Her body temperature had finally regulated so the water felt OK.
" I was raised by a clan of Andorian doomsday cultists. I was rarely let out of the compound. The most i saw of the planet was when i decided to run. I made it to the nearest city and sought of fell into the Starfleet recruitment office. " Thex said from her place in the river.
Maggie stared.
"OH!!" What did she say to that? "Well. I am glad you're...safe now." She said. "As for me, I was born into flying, but I joined Starfleet because a guy I liked did. And here I am," she said.
" What happened to the guy?" Thex enquired.
"He ended up marrying someone else," she said, pausing in her strokes to look at the Andorian. "It happens, you know? Anyway, then I discovered I like it and stayed," she said. The Academy had been more difficult for Maggie-she wasn't used to people holding her to a certain standard, having been able to skate through most of her life on her looks alone, and then picking up that habit once more when she'd graduated.
Thex pushed for a second. Terrans and their strange biology she thought to herself. " Sorry to hear that. I've had a few playmates, but no luck forming a quad myself." She replied.
Maggie nodded. "That's right, you require a group, right? That must be tough-finding three other people who you mesh with. I find I mesh well with most people, but only on an individual basis," she said. "I would offer to help, but alas, I've only been here a short while, and I am just meeting everyone," she said. She stopped in her swim to check her laps. Thirty. She needed a few more before she could float around lazily.
" Yup. Four andorians need for a quad. Guess I'm still stuck with playmates for the moment. Still thanks for the offer. " Thex said as she watched Maggie swimming " Your very good at this."
Maggie smiled. She turned around, swimming towards Thex. "Thanks. I have a lot of experience," she said. "I normally run, actually, but I can't right now. I took some damage during the dogfights, and this is all that Medical would allow me to do," she said. "I HATE not being able to run," she said. "And you're welcome. Let me know if you ever want to take me up on the offer!" She floated around a little, letting her muscles cool down. SHe'd swim a bit more, but she tired easily still-medical said it would be a few weeks until she was a hundred percent herself again.
" I'll happily take the offer and i hope your going to get better soon." Thex responded " I think that's thirty laps you're up to isn't it?"
"Thanks. Yeah, something like that. I am almost done, maybe a few more. I like to spend at least forty-five minutes in the water, if I can," she said. Her runs were normally longer, but swimming was more tiring to her.
" We could race the last few if you feel up for it." Thex suggested.
Maggie smiled. "Sure. Winner buys the loser a drink," she said. She started out, swimming quickly. She was naturally competitive, and she wanted to win.
Thex shot off after her keeping pace with her as the cool waters parted with every stroke.
Maggie managed to keep a steady pace-her form was more important than speed-she didn't want to hurt herself further, and she didn't want to risk it. Still, she was also hustling, and made good time from one end to the other. She had three more laps.
Thex had a smile on her face as she kept her arms and legs moving. She was going easy on Maggie seeing how she was holding back. One lap to go.
"Come on, really get into it," Maggie said. She was showing off, though, being a little silly. "Don't hold back to impress me," she said, before diving into her final lap. She was going to win! At least at this point.
A smile spread over the blue girl's face as she re-doubled her efforts giving her a burst of speed. She soon caught up and just as Maggie was about to finish lapped her letting out a cheer as she did so.
Maggie stopped her final lap when Thex won. She stood up, though, and smiled. "Ah, congrats!! Alright, how about that drink?" She asked, swimming towards the exit ladder and out of the water.
" Sounds good. be warned i drink orion starbursts by the pint." Thex said with a massive grin on her face as she pulled herself up the ladder.
