[ON]

Serina wasn't sure what Capt. Somers would appreciate it more as a gift. She wasn't sure about flowers, chocolate, or maybe a book, so she brought all three and headed to medical.

The Infirmary was busy as usual and looking relatively quiet as she walked in looking for Somers. Seeing her, Serina walked over to her side, and gently put her hand on her friend's shoulder.

"Jasmine...." Serina said quietly so as not to startle her. "How are you feeling? I wasn't sure what to bring so I brought all three. Hope you like them," she said.

One of the few times Jasmine was quiet was when she was sleeping, like she was now and a gentle voice brought her to the real world, she coughed and looked up "hi Serina" she said as she sat up.

"I am feeling much better thanks, they are letting me out later today, they want to do the few final checks to make sure, so how did the mission go?" Somers asked.

"It went as well as could be expected. However, I didn't come here to talk shop. I actually came to see you. You've been through so much and yet you can still be positive in everything. I go through something traumatic and I am so messed up it ain't funny," Serina said.

Looking up with a smile "Well I am a good actor, do you know why I stepped down as TFCO, the real reason?" Somers asked.

Looking a bit surprised, "No not really. I kinda figured it was due to the stress," Serina said.

"Nope, I will not go into deep details, but I was not given an option, not after what I have done on that rescue shuttle, so how did the mission go? You know that after your Shoreleave is over I will be back in command" Somers responded.

"Well, it got pretty crazy actually. After picking up the rest of the escape pods, we sent one squadron with the Marines and mine went with the Roosevelt. We went looking for the carrier and well......" letting the rest unsaid. Serina did not want to continue the subject. It still hit a nerve.

"Yes, I do know that after shore leave is over, you will be back in command. It is something I am looking forward to" she said as her eyes hit the floor. Serina felt like she had just let her friend down by not discussing the mission.

Noticing the retreat "That is okay, I have enough experience to know that most missions cannot be discussed after the fact, so from what you know how did Commander Cahill do commanding the Roosevelt?" Somers asked.

A bit shocked by her question, Serina did not know how to respond. Raising an eyebrow, "Well Jasmine, I will admit that I was surprised by her ability to give out orders that received a positive effect. She was decisive and brilliant in my opinion. A true leader who can give orders that are self-explanatory and precise. Add to that a commander that was confident, understanding and compassionate in how she treated her crew," Serina said.

*nods in acknowledgement* "Thank you, Serina, the mission was a test for the good doctor glad to hear she did well, how did the two squadrons do on the mission?" Somers asked.

"They were admirable in their duties. Both flew with distinction and compassion. Followed orders to the letter and some even tried to do the unexpected in the fighting of the pirate ship. Their dedication to their duties was far more expected than even I would have thought possible," Serina said keeping her eyes closed to avoid tears.

"So the Klingon pilots controlled their urges, then? Excellent, then again they were going into battle and the Klingon 102nd Squadron were hand-picked for their restraint and ability to work as a team and to think before charging in" Jasmine said.

"Yes and they followed orders to the letter without hesitation," Serina added, smiling.

"I am happy with that news, not read all the reports, yet, but the Hydaransz team did well, from what little I have read at the moment, I am told Winchester to admirably on the Diplomatic Incident side too, speaking of when are you pair planning the wedding?" Jasmine asked.

Looking at Jasmine, smiling as she did so, "We are going to get married on the Station when this mission is over," Serina said. "We were hoping you could officiate for us. It would honour us greatly if you would Jasmine," Serina added.

"Agreed, just give me plenty of time to prepare, but make sure you have the correct facilities booked on time also, speak to Colonel Somers she may delay her return to Earth to attend the wedding, but she can also get you real drinks, not the Synthhol stuff," Jasmine said.

Serina Looking in surprise, "Real honest to God booze? *almost jumping up and down* Oh my god! That's wonderful! Paul will love to drink the real stuff as will I. I will definitely speak to the Colonel," Serina said, hugging Jasmine. "Thank you Jasmine so much. I have to find Paul and tell him," she said excitedly.

Jasmine was taken by surprise by the hug "Still a little tender here, despite being released sometime today" she said and gently hugged Serina back "if you intend to give the Colonel a hug, give her fair warning, she may mistake the advance as an attack" Jasmine said as she sat back.

"Oh, I will give her fair warning as I do not wish to get on her wrong side!" Serina said chuckling. "I am just so happy and excited that I am bubbling over inside," she added, almost dancing in place. It was true, Serina was more than excited, she was finally grateful for the acceptance of Jasmine to officiate their wedding once back on the base. Giving Jasmine a quick kiss on the cheek, "Well I guess I had better get going. You need your rest and I have to go find Paul and tell him the good news."

"Getting on Alex's wrong side is not wise Serina, you are a smart one there, just ask your partner what happened to him when he crossed the Colonel," Jasmine said surprised by the cheek kiss smiling "Yes, better get going you have a wedding to plan and people to contact and facilities to book," Somers said.

"He told me and I basically nearly punched his lights out," Serina said chuckling. "And yes, I better get my ass moving as you say, thanks Jasmine for everything you have done for me," Serina said as she walked out of the Infirmary.

With a final smile, Jasmine watched Serina leave and made a mental note to brush up on her part as Captain for the wedding ceremony she sighed and sat back as the nurse finally approached her so she could check her vitals.
