Having left the Captain with his new pip gleaming in the lights of the ceremony Hall, he retreated to his table where Serinea and Paula both were waiting with the twins, he said " well, my love you don't outrank me no more" giving them both a smile. he knew that both would be happy for him as Paula stood up.
"Well done bro," Giving him a hug she started whispering in his ear "Just don't muck it up this time," as Davina hugged him, he also looked over his bride-to-be "Well, what do you think Serina?" asking the question.
"I still outrank you in years and flight time. But it was well deserved and about time. Now don't go and lose that new pip," Serina said as she turned pale again. The nausea hit her again and she had to excuse herself before she barfed right there.
Paula looked back at Paul and said "Let me go," as she rose from her seat she said " Davina, help your uncle look after the twins," as she headed after Serina, Paula handed one of the little ones to Paul who wondered what was up with Serina as she had not been like this Morning as he remained puzzled.
Paula Called " Serina, are you alright?"
Breathing heavily from the force of the heaving, and still pale, "I am alright Paula. I think I know what and why I am like this but a trip to the sick bay will confirm it. I missed three months ago.....," she said as some color came back and she managed to slow her breathing. Now this news was going to knock a lot of people on their keasters including the command staff. Finally able to stand, she washed her face and got ready to join the party.
"You mean you pregnant?" replied Paula looking back at her sister-in-law as she already had the twins, and she knew Paul would be flat on his back when he found out, she said, " I think we better get you to Sickbay".
Serina shook her head negatively but decided to go quickly with Paula and return to the party. Walking quickly with Paula, she headed to Sick Bay for a quick confirmation as to whether or not she was pregnant. Well, it didn't take long for her to get her answer. Serina was indeed three months along. Looking at Paula, "Paul is going to pass out!" she said as she thanked the doctor and returned to the party.
Sitting down next to Paul, "Um ...not sure how to explain this let alone say it but ...*swallowing hard* well, I kinda missed three months ago and ...well...um...the nausea and stuff is...well*big sigh*I'm three months pregnant!", she finally got it out! Now she watched Paul's reaction to the idea that he was going to be their baby's biological father.
"You're what! " replied Paul looking back at his soon-to-be wife as he staggered back, He continued " I need a stiff brandy " as he nearly collapsed in shock. Paula came over and said " Are you alright Bro, looks like I am going to be a true Aunt after all," as she knew that she would protect all three children with her life.
Serina nearly wet her pants laughing at the shell-shocked man. It was a priceless situation and his reaction was equally priceless. "A Brandy will not do the trick, he needs something more strong to help him now Paula ", she said. Watching Paul as he struggled to stay upright was funny in itself. It looked like he was already falling drunk.
" What about Rum" responded Paula with a smirk on her face looking at her brother Paul who still was shaken at the news that he was to be a father, Paula knew that she already looked after the twins for Serina when they were on a mission but now she had three children to look after.
Paul stuttered " I wonder how the folks will take the news," trying to hold himself up as he knew the Captain might make his wife take a step back from flying.
"I'm sure my parents will be tickled pink. I'm sure yours will be equally happy for us. Remember it is your first biological child. *chuckling* And I...well I am happy for us as husband and wife. This is our first child together", Serina added. The last thing she was thinking about was flying.
" I'm sure they will be" replied Paul as he knew that his mom would spoil the twins when they met them as he had informed them that he was getting married to Sereina and explained about the twins.
