Jasmine had returned to her Starbase quarters changed into denim shorts and a T-shirt a present from her cousin who was correct they were comfy Alex was correct and was sitting at her desk near the door and had her computer open, and she had some Irish Folk music playing quietly in the background, she tapped her Commbadge.

=/\= On my way. =/\= Dodd replied as he grabbed a pair of shorts to slip on. Then he slipped into his Birkenstocks and grabbed a t-shirt. He was glad for the timing as he had just got out of the shower and was going to see if Autumn wanted to have lunch, but this would do. As Dodd stepped into the corridor and slipped on his shirt he headed to the lift to see Jasmine.

Once he arrived outside her quarters, he chimed to signal he had arrived.

"Come on in Remy," Jasmine said and watched her quarters doors open and in walked her Executive Officer "I do apologise if I caught you coming out of the shower, I take it you have a date with Autumn later?" She asked.

"I was just finished with my workout and was going to see if Autumn wanted to get a bite at the promenade, but nothing was in place," Dodd replied. "Your time was perfect, as I was thinking over my workout about trying to move my EV suit technology back into motion."

*Smiling* "Have a seat, that is why I have called you here, to discuss reactivating your NEVs idea, as you know I Liked the idea, but the other Fleet we were in did not allow it, and now we are a Specialized ship and do not come under any particular fleet and with the authority to implement any doable tech, here we are?" Somers said

"Do you want to move forward?" Dodd was shocked that after all this time the captain was interested in allowing his concept of a nano EV suit to come into being. "I am all for it. I would need to revisit the terms with the Kavis Alpha IV colony to be sure we can still use the technology I had before. But I am certain we can make this work."

"Interesting, I will leave the engineering details up to you, I know enough about engineering to break something but get in touch with Kavis Alpha IV and if they agree you have my permission to start on getting a working prototype functioning, make sure it is safe for all, last thing I need is for Winchester to turn into a Nano EVA suit due to his mechanical arm so that I would suggest a bracelet type and if Winchester tries to get a version that can be merged with his new arm then tell him no, he will get the same basic suit like the rest of us" Somers said.

"I will be in touch with the Kavis Alpha IV colony of nanites and will work on a means to make the use universal for all sorts of activities," Dodd replied. "I could make it so that Winchester needs the bracelet and program the nanotech to not merge with the cybernetic arm and merely ignore the programming of his arm. I will also work to make the gear adaptive."

"Understood, keep me updated, also there is no rush, you are aware of the next mission you will be commanding, it will be one of the tests thrown at you, and your temporary Command is the USS Themistocles a Sovereign-class ship, she has the same loadout and setup as the Enterprise E had, as such ship classes are few none took part in the Dominion War, well not directly, also your Acting First Officer will be Marine Captain Falk, she has been asked and accepted the position of Second Officer, I am confident that she will do better than Commander Cahill" Jasmine paused.

"You know she made Lieutenant Commander years ago because she proved herself, of late she had become slack and complacent and let things go, it was there, but I did not see it until it was too late, she was more interested in her position and gaining rank than she ever was working with the crew, now I realise she was one of the reasons I could never keep a DCMO for long, now she has been reassigned to earth or some other place and I am finding that I no longer care, she went behind my back asked for reassignment and did not, repeat did not bother coming to me about it first. That says she was a coward and only wanted power, her actions spoke volumes of what she thinks. *pauses* Well that is in the past and we must move forward, so Remy do you have any questions and such?" Somers asked.

"Well, Falk will be a great asset as an XO. I am not sad to see her leave but I know Corsair will thrive under a new Chief Medical Officer. I hope we can resolve the situation on Arth, get as much of our tech placed inert, and get Lieutenant Lee and the rest of our crew that stayed behind off the planet. I hope that we can leave it in a better condition than we found it the first time. My only fear is that it has changed since we were last there." Dodd replied.

"As for the Tomcat, What made Starfleet decide to do a retrofit after all this time? I would have loved to be involved in that sort of operation as I know Hawksley will be miserable deep down as he was hoping to return to Arth." Dodd added. "So I take it you will be on the ship to monitor me? I want to know what fully is expected from this mission so I can try to figure out what will be headed our way as I plot out possible outcomes ahead of time."

*Looks at him* "The Tomcat had not gotten a refit since long before I got command of her, she had stick weapons on her, these had been uprated slightly and I have been commanding for sixteen years now so while the retrofit aspects of it as in the shape adjustment is all my recommendation, all ships will be getting upgrades, the Tomcat was overdue for such things, Commander Sharpe has not reported anything about Lieutenant Hawksley saying anything. You were an engineer, so imagine what it is like for him, he has a part in upgrading a ship, a daunting task, but as Chief Engineer he can say I did this or Helped with this" She paused.

"If our last fleet had been willing you would have been part of the upgrade then, but ironically you moved up and missed out, Leland will know the ship's new systems in and out, this can only make him more effective as a Chief Engineer. As for your testing period, yes I will be on the bridge with you assessing everything you do, and the choices you make and I will throw something in unexpectedly, but it will be you having to deploy a valuable result knowing the possibility of disaster could end a life, Starfleet got another name for it, I call it the Command Burden. The current mission will be yours to command, you are familiar, but you will need to do a Mission briefing as we have had new crew since and they will need to be brought up to date so you will be assessed by running a mission briefing, your acting XO will be Falk" another pause.

"Going into the mission, you must remember that while you know the basics you actually know nothing of current events and you must always expect the unexpected and mentally prepare yourself to adapt to any unforeseen events, you must also work with your XO who has never had Fleet Command Training, her instincts are of a Marine and speaking from experience those instincts will likely run lockstep with her Marine training so you have to be prepared. Now you will both make mistakes, but it is a part of learning Command and you are lucky to be commanding a Sovereign-class ship she is well-armed, but for you, the hardest thing you will have to do is remain on the ship to command and coordinate, while your XO has all the fun" Somers paused.

"I only hope that I do good for the crew and the mission. I have not had much planetary fun as most of the missions we have done since my promotion have kept me on the ship." Dodd stated with a slight chuckle. "But I do hope to pass the test and prove myself worthy of your executive officer. I have shifted my mental state to get my mind out of the setting of only making it to Lieutenant Commander and I am now looking forward to one day having my own command."

"Good to know, you might feel like a fish out of water, but imagine how Falk feels, that will be one of your obvious tests, but I have a feeling she will do very well," Somers said "If there is anything else, ask now or otherwise we are done here" she added.

"I am curious, what will be the stipulations for the retrieval of technology from Arth? I am looking at what we can do to keep the planet from developing beyond what is already in place as we can't totally take it all away as they have developed the level of civilization they have based upon what they were exposed to." Dodd asked.

"For that, you will have to be the judge. always take into account the Prime Directive, just concentrate on the tech that is too advanced for them at their current development level and remove it as quickly and quietly as you can also you will need to deconstruct the duckblind on Arth, with the latest events we will have to pull back on observations of Arth and pull out any undercover agents we have there, but you will have to judge on the spot, the best thing is you will have a Female XO who could do that assessment" Somers responded.

"Roger, that Ma'am." Dodd replied. "I will be letting you get back to down time."

*Smiling* "Thank you Remy, enjoy the rest of your downtime, I will let you know when the next mission is ready" Somers said

"No Worries." Dodd replied as he stood up and turned to leave.

With that she watched her First Officer leave, with a sigh she stood and got herself something to eat and drink and then settled in for the rest of the night.
