Mission: S02 Episode 3: When Realities Collide (Incidentals)
Location: Various/enemy side New Xindus
Timeline: Mission Day 67-1

[ON]

- Captain's Ready Room -

After everyone that was in her Ready Room had left, Jasmine had hit on an idea, she pressed the communications button on her desk, =/\= Somers to Donovan, report to my Ready Room =/\=

From where she was at that moment Donovan tapped her Commbadge =/\= On my way Captain, Donovan out =/\= that she deactivated the connection and headed up to the Captain's location.

Ten minutes later Donovan enters the room via the back door "you wanted to see me Captain?" she asked.

"Yes S'arila, please take a seat, I know being back here is painful for you mentally, but I need you to do something, off the books, I cannot go, nor can I send any other to do what you have to do" Somers said and thought the tasks and looked directly at Donovan who sat back with a jolt as she picked up the strong emotion then made the connection.

"That is risky Captain, but I can understand it and see why you are using me, but I do not have the technical skills to get the data, I will need another to do the gathering, I can defend the person and clear our way, but what you ask for collection, I cannot do without proper training and as it cannot wait too long" Donovan said.

"Take Lieutenant Dodd with you, but have him and his team outfit another shuttle with the stealth material and make sure you are both wearing non-regulation outfits and take non-standard weapons with you" Somers added.

Donovan smiled "you mean I actually get to pull my little Bessy out of the armoury!" she said sounding happy, Donovan was referring to the kinetic semi-automatic rifle that they had to use in a Radiogenic atmosphere that earth had when they finally arrived. The weapon was similar to the old M16 assault rifle, but upgraded and sized weapon.

Somers looked at Donovan strangely then it clicked on what she was on about "I need you to bring Dodd up on this and be prepared to set out the moment it is complete" Somers said, Donovan nodded and left the room and headed down to Engineering.

- Main Engineering -

After getting the briefing from Captain, Donovan arrived in the main engineering and looked around, spotting him "Lieutenant Dodd, please join me in your office, we have us a task to do" she said and headed for the Chief Engineers office.

Dodd acknowledged Donovan's request and he finished his current phase adjustment into the cloaking device. He then headed to his office and closed the door behind him.

"Major, how are you? What can I do for you?" Dodd asked as he headed to his desk to have a seat.

She took a seat "the Captain wants you and your team to equip another shuttle with that stealth material, me and you are going on a little trip, but this mission is off the books, I am going because if we have to kill an enemy, the Captain hopes that as I am originally from this reality it would not affect things too badly, you would only need to kill in self-defence, before for I continue, do you have anything to ask?" Donovan said.

"I am curious as to the nature of this mission. I feel honoured to go another mission with you, but it is off the books, so it must be dangerous. I can get my team to cover and convert another shuttle as we have extra of the camouflage material already on hand and they can start in five minutes. When do we leave?" Dodd replied to her question.

She looked at him "Alrighty then, the mission should you choose to accept this, if you are any other member of your team is caught, the Captain will deny all knowledge" (Cue Mission Impossible theme) Donovan began.

With a smile "Me and you are going to a data recovery to the Dominion FOB, intelligence scans ones that ships Intelligence do not know went on have located a Dominion data core, we are to go down there and you are to download as much data as we can get, no need to worry about decoding, our time will be short, you will also need to download any relevant engineering data, who knows it might hold some information on how to get home, finally their security and history database. My task is as your bodyguard, then when we are done you need to set the bases to self-destruct sequence and make sure it cannot be shut off, we need to hid that foreign agents were ever there, all clear so far?" Donovan paused.

"Just the two of us seems like we would need a couple more team members, but I can handle it," Dodd replied. "I will be sure to take a few data storage devices to hopefully provide us with more than enough space to hold that data we download."

Smiling "as for when we are leaving that will be the moment the stealth plating is complete, you will need all relevant tools and replicate what weapons are on this data chip," Donovan said holding the chip at Dodd. "It is a pistol that was known to be used by the Starfleet in this reality, two more things, first also on that chip is combat wear appropriate to this reality and secondly you can speak of this to no one, no Counsellors or anyone, this is a Black Ops, if we are caught we are on our own, any further questions?" Donovan asked.

"I can keep a secret, Major. I will have my team get on working to camouflage the shuttle and they should not have any reason to ask why as many of them know we have a shuttle out on a mission and this could be a back-up or rescue shuttle for that mission. While the team works on the shuttle, I will prepare the pistol, the attire and the storage devices." Dodd replied. "I will let you know immediately once the shuttle is ready to take off."

Nodding "Excellent Remy, I will go and get ready, say we assemble in three hours!" Donovan said.

"Three hours should be great. See you in the shuttle bay then."
Dodd replied.

"Excellent, I will let you get to work now," she said and left Dodd's office and main engineering.

Once Donovan departed, Dodd called in PO Jaxson, PO Nable, PO Johnson, ENS Spoak and ENS Tollar along with Pril to get to work on covering a third shuttle in the special camouflage material and also a conversion of the shuttle's system to run in stealth mode. Since used the same team as before, he felt the three-hour time frame was more than enough to get things done. He then called Nelson into his office.

"Clay, I need you to take over engineering in my absence until Taggert returns to the ship. I know you will not let me down and I know you will do what is best for the ship and the crew." Dodd commanded.

"Sir, I am sure there are others who would be better in command of engineering, than myself." Clay replied in shock.

"I know you can do this and I can't really explain much more than I have faith in you and I know you better then you think. You can do this and also it will look good for you in the future of your career." Dodd stated and he then stepped out of his office and headed to his quarters.
