Mission:
S02 Episode 3: When Realities Collide (Main Story)
Location: Deep space - 1 Light-year out of New Xindus
Timeline: Mission Day 67-4

- Pilot's Ready Room -
First Lieutenant Joseph Tabor the Squadron Leader of the Marine Pilots was enjoying a game of poker with his companions when the notification about rigging for silent running came over the Communications tannoy, the room had fallen silent.
"Okay, let's switch off all unneeded stuff and lock everything down and remember let's try to be quiet about this" Tabor said as he joined the rest in locking things down. He could not believe that the state of this reality and that a Jem'Hadar patrol suddenly showed up, he just hoped the ships jury-rigged cloak would keep them safe, so he understood the Captain wanting to lock things down, if the Dominion of this reality were like his own, their sensors would be good, so rigging for silent running was understandable.
- Engineering -
Nelson was shocked. Had he delayed the transmission to the shuttle it would not get sent. However, he hoped that the tight beam was able to keep it from being detected. Now to be in charge of engineering in a time of crisis was going to prove a lot of this petty officer. Sure Dodd could have put some ensigns in charge but he didn't.
Nelson had the crew start to buckle down and focus. He has Machado and Pril working to keep the cloaking device working. He had Jaxson and Nable working to get the damage control teams prepared if they were needed. He sent Tollar to the bridge to act as a relay from the bridge station.
Spoak was to keep the relays working to maintain sickbay in the event of any battle with the Jem'Hadar.
"Engineering is now Silent Running," Nelson yelled. "Send a runner to me if you need to make a report, no communicators if it can be avoided. I have faith in all of you and we will get through this and impress the chief and the captain."
Teela took the silent running command and made her adjustments. The computer systems, her speciality, were adjusted outside of normal parameters. The normal operation meant using subspace generators to speed the system response times to FTL speed. With her edits to the controlling software, Ensign Tjaansz was able to reduce the subspace signature, thus reducing the strain on the cloaking device while making only a minimal impact on computing. She distributed the load to a number of sub-processing units distributed around the ship to keep the variance within 0.005% of the normal response, so no one would really have any delay while on silent running. When the cloak is deactivated, she had the computer return to normal operation. But while cloaked, even a small adjustment like hers let the power systems experience less strain and less strain meant less power expenditure for the cloak to have to hide.
- Flight deck -
Paul entered the flight control room which sat on the flight deck, Paul walked over to the control desk and picked up a headset and spoke clearly, =/\= All fighters switch off your Engines as we are going silent =/\= as he looked out the window and noticed that all the fighters that were ready to go shut their engines off. he turned to the control room and said," shut down all non-essential systems but keep the launch system active at minimal power,"
"Aye Sir," replied the female flight controller that was on duty, Paul knew that Shakrham and the Doctor were still out there and knew that they must have seen the Jem'Hadar and have done the same as the Tomcat to avoid detection.
- Medical -
=/\= Somers to Aldana, set up a Triage station in shuttlebay one, we have some injured coming aboard with Commander Sterling's shuttle =/\=
With the sound of the comm, Sombra perked up.
The Kazarite doctor activated hir commbadge. =/\=I'll start to get a team together right away, is there anything else captain? =/\=
=/\= Acknowledged Lieutenant, I will assign some security outside the shuttle bay =/\= Somers added.
Aldana began getting things together and picked out a nurse to help hir. =/\=With respect, is that necessary?=/\=
=/\= Yes it is Doctor, now see it done please, Somers out =/\=
Later, Doctor Aldana was almost ready with hir triage team when hir comm went off again.
=/\= Cahill to Aldana, this is Dr Cahill. I am on my way to assist you with the triage. I will be there soon. =/\=
=/\=Sir, I was not aware you'd returned. What happened? Are your team alright? Who's hurt?=/\=
Cahill remained silent at a loss on what to say, she thought things went well, they had after all managed to remain under the radar.
When the line closed she made a connection to Winchester =/\= Somers to Lieutenant Winchester =/\=
Paul tapped his comlink and responded =/\= Winchester here, go ahead captain =/\= as he knew that things were a bit hairy right this minute. He knew that his team could cope with anything that was thrown at them as they had passed a test when he himself had crashed and lost his left arm.
=/\= Lieutenant, you are currently the nearest thing I have to a Security Chief, I need you to assign some security to all exits to shuttle bay two, Commander Sterling is bringing some natives back, apparently they saw some of their doubles, but I want to keep the contamination down to an absolute minimum =/\=
He thought to himself upon hearing what Somers had just said over the com, oO How many more roles am I to have Oo as he rubbed his forehead, he responded =/\= Aye ma'am, will have them in position =/\= he knew that the security teams were going to listen to his orders or he will have them clean the flight deck.
=/\= Thank you, Lieutenant, Somers out =/\= she said, she was testing him, to see how much he could handle in a pinch, and as it was currently required, all the better, she planned to put Winchester into the CIO slot regardless of rank, yes Commander Swiftpaws outranked him, but she was always happier when not in the spotlight.
Sheela moved through the Tomcat with ease. Bypassing sensors that kept track of personnel aboard the craft. She was going to the shuttle bay that would receive the rescued personnel from the freighter that was falling apart. Her Second on the bridge manning the communications on the bridge and finishing up the downloads from the Freighter that was in jeopardy to glean what intel she could get to include star charts to assist in navigation.
