Away Team 3:Ferrying survivors to New Xindus

Mission: S02 Episode 3: When Realities Collide (Incidentals)
Location: Lady Luck/Various
Timeline: Mission 4 67-4

Maia and Other-Nicci got the refugees and their meagre possessions aboard the Lady Luck. it would be a short run to New Xindus at 1/2 impulse. Jarlee even downloaded a complete history of this region including the occupation and fall of the Federation. She even helped Maia a bit on the math to help get them home. There was no limit to an enhanced an awakened mind, even if her body was enslaved to its own sexual impulses. They did have to hurry though as the hull was beginning to buckle. With their primary secondary and tertiary power systems blown out and no warp core, there would be very little to salvage on that ship, except twisted and strained metal.

"Status of the evacuation," Maia asked.

"Almost done, ma'am," said the Lieutenant. "We have the critical patients in first. We should ask the CMO to pay them a visit, or perhaps have one of us on the shuttle triage them till we get to the planet. We have only four people left on this freighter - you, me, Jarlee, and Other Me. She wanted to make sure she got everything of value off the ship."

Maia turned to Other-Nicci. "It's your ship how do you want to dispose of it"? Maia asked.

"Good question..." Other-Nikki replied. "I think the best way would be to backtrack and let it crash into an asteroid. We can use the ramscoops, primitive as they are, to suck back in the exhaust, so as to help try to keep New Xindus hidden at least a little longer. The warp core exploded out of the system, so perhaps we can create a new trajectory there, and set it on a course away from here."

"Very well it shouldn't take too long either, but how can you breach the warp core when you don't have a warp core to breach? Do you have antimatter charges? Maia asked.

"I had to make sure I got everything off the ship," Other-Nikki said, as she had a shoulder bag. It was unclasped, and there were a lot of isolinear chips, gold and silver coins, and a few books. She saw the two people from the other universe, glanced at the bag, and sealed it. "It's all I have at home and Earth," she said, a little sad.

"I just hope it will be enough for you to start a new life," Maia said.

Maia helped where she could but the hull was buckling.

"Let's get aboard the lady luck, I don't think this ship will last much longer," Maia said.

Once everyone was aboard Maia went to the bridge cleared moorings and docking clamps and backed away slowly.

"Alright set a course for New Xindus 3/4 impulse power," Maia ordered.

"New Xindus ETA 2.2 hours," The helm stated.

Plenty of time to get situated.

3 hours later the Lady Luck was in orbit of New Xindus and had dropped off their refugees. There were no tearful goodbyes.

"Nicci set a course for the Tomcat full impulse," Maia ordered.

Maia sat back in her seat and watched as the planet rapidly receded from view.

Now how do we get home...Maia thought.

"Course laid in back to the ship," Nicci said. "I've sent the coded back signal on our encrypted frequency I set up, and we now have the current position of the ship. We will enter the shuttle bay under a partial cloak."

She thought oO I hope those people are safe on that planet Oo.

"Thank you, Lieutenant. Set a parabolic course back to the Tomcat and engage at warp 2". Maia said.

2 hours later...

"Lady luck to Casino Real, the Kobayashi Maru has set sail for the promised land, prepare to receive the lost souls". Maia sent in scrambled code to the Tomcat letting them know they were ready to board.
