Joining the Counseling Department

Location: Counseling offices
Timeline: S3 Mission 3 MD 01

Between one thing and another Iria was behind in Counseling Department details and now that she was catching up, she wanted to take a moment to talk with a new person that was assigned to the department. She was wearing her intelligence grays but had her Counseling blue jacket on over the shirt. She waited in her Counseling office and paused by the bonsai trees on the shelves, they looked to be in good shape, and didn't yet need pruning, though the cherry blossoms of one bonsai tree were starting to gather beneath the outstretched branches.

Lilli had received a request from Lieutenant Walon asking to meet her in the Counselling offices. Being new to the department Lilli was eager to get stuck into her counselling duties as well as her medic ones. Arriving at the counselling offices she pressed the door chime and waited for an answer.

"Come in," Iria said as she was still looking at the cherry blossom bonsai tree, she moved some of the petals and evened out the small pile to encircle the bonsai tree's roots in the tray. She then turned to face the doorway to regard the new arrival, with a gentle smile.

Walking in Lilli smiled as she greeted Iria. "Sergeant Vail reporting as requested Lieutenant."

Iria's smile turned into a more cheeky version as she spoke, "Please call me Iria unless the Captain or first officer is around," she motioned to the comfortable seats and couch, "Please have a seat, can I get you anything from the replicator or would you like some real hot chocolate from my brewer?"

"Oh definitely real hot chocolate please Iria" Lilli smiled warmly as she moved over to a seat on the couch. "I really miss not having real chocolate so this will be a treat!"

Iria smiled as she turned around to get the brewer and pour them both mugs of the hot chocolate, "This is a Risian recipe I am trying, let me know what you think?" Iria said as she brought over the mugs and offered one to the Sergeant, "Do you have a first name or do you prefer not using that among others you work with?" Iria asked lightly as she got settled in her well-cushioned seat and took a small ship from her hot chocolate, it was creamy, smooth and a light vanilla aftertaste but it was a good rich hot chocolate blend in her opinion.

Lilli smiled as she took the mug from Iria and carefully took a sip, she had to admit it was a delicious drink. "Mmmm that's a lovely blend. Please feel free to call me Lilli, my full name is Lilliana but I prefer Lilli."

Iria nodded softly, "Pleasure to meet you, Lilli, from your dossier it says you're a medic and Counselor, do you have any particular preference on where you do Counseling or do you want to claim one of the offices? Though I won't be in this office as much, so far as I'm concerned anyone can use it as long as they leave it the way they found it."

“I don’t mind where I work from Lieutenant but it would probably be best to have an official office where patients from the marine contingent can talk in private.” Lilli smiled warmly.

Iria nodded, "There are three other offices besides mine which as I said you're welcome to use when I am not here, but if you want to lay claim to one and make it your own go right ahead. I will make sure that the placard is updated properly."

“I appreciate that” Lilli smiled warmly. “I have a few things I like to set up in an office to make it feel warm and welcoming. I’ll have them moved to one of the offices and get set up.”

Iria nodded, "Take whichever you like and let me know I will have the plaque changed for you." She slipped her hot chocolate and regarded Lilli a moment, "Do you have any questions or anything else for me?"

Lilli paused. “No, I don’t think so at the moment. I’ll let you know if I think of anything.”

Iria nodded her head, "Well I will let you get settled and I will check back with you later, I need to get back to work myself, welcome to the team and the ship!" She said as she got to her feet, "Take your time to enjoy the rest of your hot chocolate, just leave the cup on the desk by the brewer I will pick it up later." Iria smiled at Lilli and then headed towards the doorway, "I look forward to working with you." She added as she stood by the doorway.

Lilli sipped some more of her drink. “I will thank you.” She smiled warmly. “It’s been nice meeting you.”
