- USS Tomcat -

After they finished their time in Medical being made to look like the people they were going to scout for more information, both reported to the Quartermaster to get their native clothing. As this planet was medieval in style and mentality, from what cursory scans can get, they were dressed in the appropriate female clothing of the planets time period along with some cloaks with hoods. Their hair was put into the style of the latest fashion of common folk as was their attire. Now looking like the locals and with Commbadges hidden out of sight, but activated so they could provide a real-time translation if they were approached.

Both women left the Quartermasters and headed towards the transporter room getting strange looks from the crew they passed, Jasmine smiled at the confused looks and double-takes. As both women entered the transporter room and stood on the pad and looked at Sterling with her golden eyes.

"You know Maia the smell of the excretions these people have is not so noticeable to me now, also I am getting quite attached to this look, but I still miss my own skin tone and smell, what about you?"

Maia burst out laughing and almost cut her lip on the prosthetic teeth..."Well, we are both female I wonder what the males smell like". Maia said.

Jasmine nodded with a smile then looked at the transporter chief "okay chief locate a quiet secluded spot and beam us down and please keep a skeletal lock on us, we may need an extraction should things go south"

The transporter chief simply nodded and activated the transporter, Jasmine felt her DNA being changed into matter particles and then nothing for a micro-second then she was standing alongside Sterling in a secluded part of a forest.

Pulling out her tricorder "scanning for any anomalies, you have anything on your science tricorder?" she asked.

Maia made a complete 360 degree turn scanning with her tricorder...

"Looks like the faint power reading are coming from 130 mark 8 about 2 clicks that way Maia said pointing. I'm also picking up a scanning beam, whoever they know we are here captain". Maia said.

The area was indeed forest but very wet, like river lands should be, the bugs didn't seem to bother them probably because of their scent.. a blue moss grew on both sides of the rocks and trees as they passed...both Maia and Somers stayed away from the locals most of whom were on rafts floating down the river...there was very little in the way of roads in this area..it took some time to navigate the forest and the streams the ground was very wet almost marsh like but they made there was to a rocky outcrop near the shore of a large lake....

As they got to a large lake they paused "We need to find a place to hide and reassess" she used her tricorder and was curious. "This planet is in a medieval state of development and the scanning beam has a Romulan signature, damn what are they doing here!"

Both women pulled back and found a safe area in a cave "this has ore deposits that will shield us from the scanners, but also from the transporter, but I am thinking we have to return to the ship, there will be no way we can recon the area, what do you say Commander?

"Actually this planet is in a pre-industrial stage Captain, undoubtedly they have a certain level of technology that we are unaware of in some area and seem primitive in others since we haven't actually gone in to explore the culture we simply don't have those answers. It actually reminds me of a book I read once called river world. As for returning to the ship, we haven't completed our mission yet Captain. First, if that scanning beam was Romulan we need to find out who they are and what they are doing here". Maia replied.

Looking at Maia "you will get no argument from me Maia, but I do not think it is going to be that easy escaping and I think we going to have us a tough time before anything happens."

The First officer seemed a bit preoccupied looking for ways to get out, Jasmine was not anymore less anxious to exit the, wherever they were, but she had a plan and knew that when Donovan would find out she would make plans for a hostile extraction and she pitied their captors, who had still yet to reveal their faces, but somehow this seemed stereotypical Romulan secret base.
