Mission:
Season 2 Episode 1: The New Frontier
Location: Romulan underwater base
Timeline: Mission Day 30

- Romulan Base -
Commander Arrenhe was busily packing her things when the red alert klaxon in her command centre went off.
Arrenhe hit the intercom "Report".
"Captain sensors have registered a transporter signature in quadrant one.." her subaltern reported.
"Quadrant one, that means whoever they are have picked up on our energy dampeners, get a squad and capture them stun on site, and then retrieve them and put them into the brig..."
The crack team of Romulan commandoes had scouted the two intruders for miles without being detected thanks to their energy dampeners. the two looked like planetary natives until one of them pulled out a Federation tricorder to scan the area.
The team had followed then surrounded them, when the time came they were easily stunned.
The commandoes had them transported to a holding cell.
*Hours Later*
Maia stirred first her body wracked in pain. She knew she had been stunned but didn't know by whom yet. She went over to Captain Somers to try to shake her awake.
Still looking like one of the natives, Jasmine was in a fitful sleep, in her mind she thought she was still in the cavern hidden away, but someone was shaking her, grumbling under her breath she opened one eye and saw a familiar face, but with blue skin and yellow eyes, it took her a moment to realize that is was her First Officer. "okay I am awake" she said as she sat up and her hand went to her head "Ow, what hit us and where are we? Last I remember we found ourselves in a cave with ore deposits that deflected scans and transporters, then some people showed up and I awoke here" Jasmine said.
"We were captured apparently stunned also our translators, communicators tricorders and phasers are gone". Maia said
Maia got up and started to explore the cell looking for a way out they could exploit while at the same time shaking off the after effects of being stunned. it was very much like having a hangover, a really bad one...She ached all over...
Jasmine watched Maia pace checking the cell to see if there any loopholes, Jasmine knew there would not be this cell was escape proof, she just sighed and sat against the wall holding her head.
Dr Ro-Paul was watching on hidden cameras and smiled at the idea of having new Federation officers to play with. She loved to watch them try to escape and to resist from talking. But in the end, all of them gave in some sooner than other. She pressed the intercom button, "You have no chance to escape. You will soon feel more pain."
Looking up at Maia "No use Commander it seems we are fish in a tank, all I can say is be ready for some hard interrogation" Jasmine said.
"I've been through Klingon interrogation and Cardassian. I wonder who it is who captured us. I guess we will find out soon enough". Maia said.
Maia turns to Captain Somers.
"Whoever it seems a bit more sadistic than normal for military operations, Perhaps we've been captured by privateers". Maia replied.
- Several hours later 1930 Hours -
Commander Arrenhe's office - Romulan Garrison
Commander Arrenhe observed her captives via monitoring cameras. Her sensors told her that they had beamed down from orbit but their sensors were not tracking a ship in orbit. Perhaps they had a cloaking device. It was time for the initial interview.
She had several well-armed security officers flanking her. They made their way down to the detention facility.
- Detention Cells -
Behind the force field were two natives who were not natives. She activated her Universal Translator
"I am Commander Arrenhe N'Vek and you are guests of the Romulan Tal'Shair. Who are you and where did you come from"? Arrenhe asked.
Maia looked at Somers this was her show now...
Standing up and walking to the barrier " hmmm let me look, yup you are who you say you are, Tal'shiar, as you have obviously scanned us, you know we are not natives. I know why we are here, we are here to study a native culture and learn who they are exactly. I have a counter question for you Commander Arrenhe N'Vek" eyeing the Romulan up and down, she had no fear, Jasmine always accepted the fact that any away mission she went on she always classed herself as a dead girl walking until she returned to her ship. She had no one to leave a legacy too, some time ago she told an old CMO that due to some medical issues she could not have any children, her remaining family were deep in Federation space and well-insulated thanks to her Uncles standing.
"What is the Tal'Shiar's interest in a primitive planet with no advantage for you? I mean you are deep in unclaimed space few hundred light-years from New Romulus on the other side of the Xindi Protectorate, so unless you are truly are here to study pre-warp cultures then you have more nefarious reasons for being here. As to your question, my name is Captain Jasmine Lynne Somers I am an Officer in Starfleet this is Commander Maia Sterling we were both sent by Starfleet to study a pre-warp culture. our explorer ships had no idea you guys were here" Jasmine said.
Commander Arrenhe's eyebrow shot up. What was New Romulus?, she wondered.
"Our reasons for being here are our own, Captain. The Tal'Shiar does not answer to the Federation or Starfleet. As you say this is unclaimed space. Neither the Federation or The Romulan Star Empire have legal jurisdiction in this sector. We have been here over a year. Give me time to check out your story, if it checks out your status as prisoners will improve to guests". Commander Arrenhe stated.
