With the terrible task done Alex slumps back into her seat and visibly deflates she looks over at Arderne with a sorrowful look "you know Lieutenant, no matter how experienced one is, one never gets used to carrying out such an order. I know it was necessary, but I will be damned if it does not pain me so, you have walked this ship how does the crew seem to be taking things?" She asked.
Until then Lamia had been lost deep in the emotions of the crew, the levels were high, to say the least, and even Lamia’s mental barriers weren’t keeping it all out. She snapped out of it as she looks towards Somers. “To be honest, the mood amongst the crew is... subdued, to say the least.” Lamia offered a brief smile. “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a whole new pile of Counselling requests on my desk when I get back.”
She simply shrugs sadly in response and looks over to Ze who was currently manning Communications "Lieutenant Ze, open a ship-wide hail if you will please?" She asked.
Tosrol looked up as his name was mentioned, looking directly to the captain "understood captain" he said pressing a few buttons on the console "Ship wide hail started captain"
When the communications line was open she sat up =/\= All hands this is the Captain, I know that our current mission was hard on everyone in one form or another and especially for those who were on the Away Teams, I want to say that while I am not the regular commander of the Tomcat I am as proud of all of you on your conduct as I would be my own Rifles, well done I will not say congratulations as the tasks we had to perform went above and beyond of what we normally do as Starfleet Officers regardless of branch of the service. So well done everyone, if anyone should need some Counselling sessions Lieutenant Arderne and Walon are available for consultations should you wish it, now when we are on our way back I want all Senior Staff to assemble on the flight deck, there are to be some Promotions and one award to be given out and I think we can all do with some happy events, so at 1200 hours all Senior Staff are to assemble in the flight bay attendance is mandatory, so until then please continue on with your departmental tasks, bridge out =/\=
With that, she looked over to see Commander Cahill arrive on the bridge, all the other officers required were also there already "Mr Hawksley and Donovan set a heading for Starbase 51 at warp six" Somers said.
Ted nodded and headed towards the science lab. He had an idea and as it was not his time to be on the bridge. Silver decided to follow his idea up.
Leland had turned to Flight Control on the Tomcat’s engines. It was a sight to see in any situation. Grabbing hold of the seat, he felt its strength and looked forward at the viewscreen.
There was a way to solve that problem. Hawksley had assumed the controls of the FCO and set in a plot and engine string alignment with the warp field engines. Leland was now considerable in his comfort with the Tomcat controls.
“Captain. Engines ready. Starbase 51 plotted in. Engines at warp six at your Command?” Hawk had replied as he glanced his head slightly to the right to let his eyes glance at Captain Somers.
"Navigation ready, course laid in, ready on your mark," Serina said sullenly. Her heart was heavy and it showed.
"Engage Lieutenant," Somers said to Hawksley,
When the destination and speed were set in the ship began to move forward and when it picked up full impulse "engage" Somers said and the stars became star lines. Now she knew that she had some duties to do and stood up "Commander Cahill ready room please" she said looking at Cahill and then looked at Thompson "Lieutenant Thompson, you have the bridge, keep us at the same speed and heading" Somers said as she walked away from the chair.
Lieutenant Thompson was at his post on Science 2. He was monitoring the planet below, a once class M planet now class D destroyed by the biogenic weapon they had deployed. All life including microbial life had been eradicated and the atmosphere ripped away. with no atmosphere, the seas had begun to evaporate as all see life even plankton was gone. Even the water vapour that was left was reverting to its diatomic state. They had essentially killed a planet. He had been up with Ted talking about it last night. the end definitely justified the means but an entire planet scrubbed of all life, it made sense that biogenic weapons were outlawed.
"Aye Colonel, I have the conn. Just so you know, I am detecting no life at all down there now, nothing at all. it is essentially a dead world." Matt reported. "I'm not even getting anything on the Dyno scanners." He added.
Looking at Thompson sadly, "thank you, Matthew, let us hope we never have to take such actions again, this was not a glorious day for combat, this is a sad day and we should remember all those poor colonists who had to die to save a galaxy, it is at times like this the Vulcan Axiom The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few apply, but it does not make things any easier" Somers said with a final smile and headed to the CRR.
Matt got up and took the centre seat.
Cahill replied," On my way Col Somers" As she got up and followed her to the Captains Ready Room. As the doors closed once they were inside she stood in front of the Captain's desk and waited for what was going to be said.
She was wondering what was going on and remained silent. She waited patiently for what LTC Somers had to say
"My Ready Room Commander, if you please!" the Colonel said and entered the CRR with Cahill behind following...
"Aye LTC Somers" as she followed. Cahill replied, As she got up and followed her to the Captains Ready Room. As the doors closed once they were inside she stood in front of the Captain's desk and waited for what was going to be said.
She was wondering what was going on and remained silent. She waited patiently for what LTC Somers had to say
As Alex entered the CRR she went around the desk to her seat "please be seated Commander" she said indicating the chair opposite the desk.

Getting up from her seat Lamia took a stroll around the bridge more to occupy her mind than anything else. She was slowly coming to terms with the loss of her and Dodd’s daughter, but the level of sombre emotions onboard wasn’t helping her overall mood.
Paul was now back at his post at the tactical/Security station finally glad to be off that dead rock before the biogenic warhead had been deployed, he said "No other ships in range," as he knew that after what he and his team had gone through down on that inimical planet would stay with him forever.
- Engineering -
Dodd was in his office in Engineering and so grateful the events of the mission were over. He now could come to terms with what happened and deal with some other issues. He stood up and stepped out of his office.
Nelson was just outside Dodd's office door. So as soon as Dodd stepped out, he almost ran smack into Nelson.
"Hey, I am sorry, sir," Nelson stated. "I really wanted to speak to you."
"Okay, come on in," Dodd said as he turned around and went back to his desk. "What can I do for you, my friend?"
"Sir, I am here because I want to propose to Kara and I am not sure how to go about it," Nelson replied with a strong sense of purpose and fear.
"Well, this is something we need to discuss over a few drinks and a meal. Can we do this later this evening? I will arrange for Kara to be called to duty to make sure she will not interrupt us." Dodd replied with a huge smile on his face.
"Okay, I really appreciate it," Nelson stated. "I am very excited and yet full of fear."
"No worries. I will get you through this." Dodd replied. "Now, get back to work and I will see you tonight in the lounge and we will talk about your big event." Dodd then walked out of the office behind Nelson and started to exit engineering.
Dodd was on his way to go see Walon and surprise her in the middle of the morning before she got too busy with the crew who would soon be needing to see her professionally.
Sticking partly out of a Jeffries tube, the lower half of Lt, JG Taggert was lit by the various ODN lights subtly pulsing with information streaming back and forth, as she made some adjustments and replacements. She was fastidious with her work, and damn it, she wanted to turn up the data rate another 3.5%. She had a bet going with Jamie over on the Leto and she wasn't going to lose it now.
"Come on, little ODN hub, you can do it. Gimme just a little more...yeaaaah, there we go. Good boy! I knew you could do it! Gimme those transfer rates as I simulated!" Nicci said, talking to the equipment like it was a pet cat or something.
"When did ODN hubs start to talk?" Dodd paused as he spooked his deputy chief.
"OW!" Nicci almost yelled as she banged her head on the equipment, surprised by the Chief Engineer.
"Did not intentionally mean to make you boink your head," Dodd replied as he offered his hand to her to help her out.
She took Dodd's proffered hand with a smile and stood up, "Yeah, no worries Chief, I'm good. Just trying to coax a little more data speed. I've got a bet with Jamie over on the Leto, and since she's on a smaller ship, she doesn't have to do as much work to cover distances and all, and well, I kinda find it helps me work to talk to the equipment a bit..." As usual, when she worked, she had taken off her tunic and jacket, laying them on a console, as it sometimes got hot inside the panelling with all that equipment.
"I do understand and I can't say that I don't do it, but I do talk to the ship when I am working on her. I feel that when the time comes and you take my space, I know you will be good to the ship." Dodd replied. "You know me by now that you know I don't care how you are dressed with working in the tubes. If I could, I would work in the buff every chance I could."
Nicci choked a little and blushed as her mind formed the image, and her body reacted before she could stop it; her lips reddened and thickened a little and though it wasn't cold, one could see she seemed to be cold. "Thanks for the image chief," Nicci chuckled a little, it coming as more of a girlish giggle than she would've liked. "Luckily I turn off the Jeffries' Tubes' security feed when I'm working late at night when I can't sleep, haha. Sometimes clothes just get in the way, especially for us Bellringer people. I'm glad I have your confidence. I'm happy fixing things, and so far, Tomcat's been a good ship. She's gotten us home, despite the rough waters."
"You know I have to keep you on your toes and keep those images in your mind on the randy side of things. I am glad you are my deputy chief and I know soon you will have the shot to be the chief and I will be proud to have you succeed me." Dodd responded.
"Well, it looked like you were heading somewhere, so I don't want to keep you too long," Nicci replied. "I'm just glad no more zombies will be chewing on my arm like a chew toy. I've got five more relays to work on, and that'll stabilize the subspace field in the warp drive. We can go to warp no problem, but it'll be a heck of a lot more efficient when I finish."
"Great work and I am liking the spunk you show," Dodd replied. "I am off to meet with some other department heads to get a feel of what they want to be done once we reach starbase. I will let you get back to work."
"Thanks, Chief," Nicci smiled. "Teela said something about Schuman resonances and the subspace field, so I'm seeing if that'll fix the nagging vibration I'm feeling in the ship. It's subtle but it's there. Good luck on your meeting, sir!"
- Counseling Offices -
Dodd arrived in the outer office of the Counseling Department. He was doing his best to keep his thoughts to himself as to fully surprise his Imzadi.
He approached her office door and made it chime. Now he awaited her to acknowledge in some fashion, but he knew she did not have a patient inside.
"It's open," Iria called as she was reading a PaDD from a rather large stack on her right. The stack on the left being smaller proving to be the finished pile in progress.
There was a half-full cup of hot chocolate by her left hand, and the candy dish of peppermints was still full. Meaning she hadn't touched them yet, and so far no one had asked for any either.
"Hey, there, hot stuff," Dodd stated as he entered the office. "Are you doing okay?" Dodd asked as he noticed the half cup of hot chocolate as that was not usual for her to have not finished it all relatively quick as she so enjoyed liquid chocolate while it was warm.
"Hello to you, too," Iria replied with a smile seeing her fiancee. I am doing fine, just behind in paperwork." she said with wry amusement.
"I was getting ready to head to our quarters to get my uniform changed for the ceremony, wanted to know if you would like an escort?" Dodd asked sensing she was dealing with a lot on her mind.
"I think that would be nice, thank you Remy," she said with a smile and wink.
"I will let you finish up and meet you in our quarters and we can go to the ceremony together," Dodd replied. "I will see you soon, my Imzadi." Dodd then headed out of her office to go to their quarters.
Iria watched him go and turned her attention back on the PaDD's she would have to finish up after the ceremony unless she wanted to show up late.
