Location: Tomcat flight deck/Various
Timeline: Current

With everything settled with the Departmental changes, the time had come for the happy moment, or she hoped it would be, Alex stood up in the CRR she had returned to the room after having replacement bridge crew take over for the ceremony and tugged her jacket down and straightened her sash, she picked up her Padd and headed out the back door, Lucy was not at her usual place she was getting things ready. Alex managed to make it to the turbo lift unseen and the moment the doors closed "Flight deck" she said and the lift took her to her requested destination.

- Flight Deck -

On the flight deck, the engineers had finished erecting a platform and had placed a podium at the front of the platform and connected up the voice to the pickup mics, on the platform and at the rear of a little table that had five boxes on it, each had a name Lucy had just finished setting things up when she heard a noise looked up and saw the Colonel arrive Padd in Hand.

"Everything all okay there Lucy?" Somers asked approaching and getting up onto the platform and having a look at the setup "very nice" she said.

"All is ready Colonel, and thank you," Armitage said both women looked up and saw the available lifts open and the Senior Staff had begun arriving onto the flight deck.

Alex looked back at Lucy "here we go, surprises all round I think" Somers said and looked over at Lieutenant Dodd entered, Alex saw where the Yeoman was looking and looked back to Lucy "he has a fiancée, Lucy," Somers said.

Armitage went as red as her undershirt in embarrassment and turned away, Alex looked at the Master Chief, she knew the woman was Bi-sexual, but as far as she knew Lucy was seeing S'arila, oO oh the youth of today Oo she thought to herself and mentally prepared herself, the rest of the crew that were arriving increased in number as more made it to the flight deck.

Dr Cahill arrived on the Flight Deck, she assumed a position near the podium but made sure she was out of the main sight. She did not want to be in a big crowd, so she stood off to the side. So she was more comfortable. She found it uncomfortable standing in large crowds and always picked a location where she had some elbow room.

A few passed by and she exchanges pleasantries with them but held to herself. She was still a little upset and down at being passed over for XO. She had her opinion but held it to herself. She did not want to ruin Dodd's day as well as the others. And she did not want to make the mistake of being on Somers bad side too. She knew if her feeling came out they could result in her being demoted or transferred to another ship.

As Paul came to a halt before the podium, He knew that after his discussions with Walon and calling the Colonel out on her Honour, he was not expecting anything from this Ceremony as he knew that being in the Colonel's bad books was not a good place to be, however; he was here as he was ordered to be here. He also knew that he still had to prove himself to the Colonel to regain his Lieutenant's pip back.

Patrick followed in after. He greeted the doctor and made his way to the back of the podium viewing area. He was not exactly sure how many to expect so he stayed in the back. Part as a natural tactical manner, the other because he was a good-sized lad and did not want to block anyone's view.

Lamia arrived at the flight deck, feeling better after her brief talk with Remington she offered a smile to those already present. She hadn’t seen Chris as yet so she wasn’t sure whether he’d be present at the gathering or not.

Serina, after seeing Paul, had calmed down finally well enough to get into her dress uniform. Fixing her hair, she walked to the flight deck. Seeing the podium, she saw the boxes and felt a little sad but it quickly passed as she made her rounds.

Walking into the flight deck, Lt, JG Taggert was the perfect image of an officer in a dress uniform. Her golden blonde hair up in a high bun, two strands framing either side of her face, with light and tasteful makeup, she had a pressed uniform and properly polished boots. She had taken some water before coming, so she wouldn't smudge her lipstick. She hated lipstick, but it was expected, so she went with it.

It took a moment, but she found her seat and sat with a PADD, reading a book while waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Ted arrived and looked around. Blinking like a deer caught in headlights. He took a seat at the back. While waiting for someone to say hello or things to start. Silver looked over a padd he had brought with him.

Lamia had noticed Ted’s arrival, making her way over by him she smiled warmly. “Hello Ted, how are you?”

Silver looked up and smiled.

“ Oh hello. Not too bad really. The sessions are really helping. How are you?” Ted asked.

“I’m fine, thank you” Lamia smiled warmly. “Just waiting on the ceremony to begin now.”

Ted looked towards the front. " I wonder what's going to happen? " Silver said aloud.

“I wish I knew!” Lamia smiled. “No doubt we’ll find out soon enough.”

Cahill knew her time as Acting XO was about to end but she was happy for Dodd getting the post. She did not want to interfere with the plans made. Everything happens for a reason and in the future, it would come out the reason for her not getting it. She decided to take her seat at the table up front reserved for the new XO and 2XO to sit at. And to enjoy herself as best she could. She had gotten a double Johnny Walker Red then poured a second on into the first glass to be able to relax and calm herself down.

Dodd and Walon arrived at the flight deck as required. While Dodd knew some of what was going to happen, he held back what was discussed in the captain's ready room as he was not sure it was one hundred per cent known to the crew as of yet.

Dodd and Walon took their usual seats together in the front row. Dodd had a PADD as he was monitoring the workings of Engineering as Machado was covering the department so everyone else who could make it to the ceremony had the ability to do so.

Iria was happier now than when Remy had stopped in the office to check on her, the mountain of paperwork was only a few PaDD's smaller than it had been but she had done enough to allow her to focus on the award Ceremony. Whatever was going on she was curious. Remy obviously knew something was up but he hadn't shared anything with her.

~~ I am looking forward to this. ~~ Dodd thought to Walon. ~~ I am so proud of the crew that are being recognized in this ceremony. ~~

~~ Our crew has been through a lot and we've gotten stronger. ~~ She gave his hand a gentle squeeze with her own, ~~ No matter what you're stuck with me. ~~ Iria sent back to him, lightly.

Dodd knew Walon had a lot going on with everyone trying to book a time to see her discuss their issues over what had just happened on the last mission. He was doing his best to lift her spirits.

Iria was always proud of Remy, his strength of character, his ideas and his passion were in everything he did. She was very lucky indeed to have him as a lover and life partner.

Serina saw Paul and walked over to him. "Hello Paul, how are you?" She asked. She wasn't sure how Paul would react so she decided to be professional and proper.

Hawksley was confused as to where Lilli was. She had not seemed to be around lately. Stiffening his back straight, he stood tall, at the ready. His commander in wait situation was rather odd, having stood around on a shift. Hawksley's attention was redirected later to the podium.

"Hey Leland, why are you so worried?" Paul said leaning into him, he continued," it's not like you might get promoted or something " he chuckled trying to ease his friend's fears as he knew that something might happen.

Hawksley had turned, looking at the Chief. What he had said was quite hilarious. Leland held a stoic face, as tired as a Vulcan to try and not laugh and give in.

“Chief, The track meets in my life... They don’t give out medals or promotions.” Hawksley had shrugged and grinned, turning to his attention back to Somers at the podium.

Matt Thompson made his way to the ceremony in his dress uniform, He rarely ever for a chance to wear it. He sat with his department.

Thyra came in late, as she had to bring the pad she was holding to be signed back to the office. She looked around at all the people gathered. This is the first time she was in great company, well, since she graduated that was. She hadn't met anyone yet. But her duties kept her busy to actually meet more of the crew.

Tosrol looked at himself in the mirror, duty uniform hung on the door of his wardrobe. The shimmering white of his dress uniform with the lieutenant junior grade pips on show. Sorting his hair out and brushing off his uniform, he stepped out of his door and made for the ceremony which was on the flight deck.

This mission had been a hard one, people needed a little pick me up and a ceremony to celebrate things was probably in order. Walking the halls of the tomcat, he liked the ship and the people on it Hawksley had fast become a good friend to him and it was plain to see the two would get on famously. This would be the first time he was wearing his duty uniform in a long time.

Stepping gingerly through to the ceremony, standing quite close to the outer rim of the people, he wanted to observe from a distance. Finding a seat he looked around at all the faces h hadn't quite met yet but he hoped he could mingle after and get to know the crew good and proper.
