Mission:
General Sim Postings
Location: Marine CO’s office
[ON]
Strolling through the marine deck's Jasmine was running her hands over her uniform making sure she looked marine pristine for reporting in. Her hair was near, her shoes were shining, and she looked every inch the way a marine should look.
Arriving at the Marine CO’s office she pressed the chime and waited for the inevitable call to enter.
While Jasmine was waiting for the call to enter, Mazal walked up perusing a padd. She stopped short when she noticed a pretty red-headed woman dressed in marine green, there at the door to Captain Jackson's office.
"Good morning Lieutenant, I'm Lieutenant Mazal Falk, Newly assigned Marine XO. Looks like we both have some business to attend to with Captain Jackson." giving a friendly smile.
Jasmine straightened up and offered a salute. “Lieutenant Jasmine Allen, It’s nice to meet you, Lieutenant.” She relaxed her stance and offered a smile. “I’m reporting for duty.”
Inside the office, the Captain stepped out of the head and closed the door. That was usually the time the door chime would ring. "Come in." He said to the computer and sat down and brought up the requisition list on his work terminal.
Hearing the call to enter Jasmine offered Mazal a smile as they stepped inside the office. She walked over to Jackson’s desk offering a salute. “Lieutenant Jasmine Allen, reporting for duty Sir.”
Mazal wasn't far behind her. "Hello, Captain you've got dual visitors." cracking smile. She went to find a seat that wasn't too far from Jackson's desk.
The Captain returned the salute and nodded to a chair that was vacant across from his desk. "At ease Lieutenant Allen. Welcome aboard." He said and offered her his hand. "I saw something briefly come through but I'm not sure which padd it was, so please humour me. Have a chair." He said and sat back down. He looked over at Mazal. "I see she has already met our XO?" Looking to confirm that she had indeed met.
Jasmine shook Patrick’s hand before sitting down, she had to admit he was a handsome guy. She took her seat, making herself comfortable as Patrick spoke to Mazal.
Mazal chuckled, "Yes we just briefly met outside of your office." glancing over towards Jasmine. "It is great meeting more of our Marines," she commented. "What do we have on our agenda today, sir?"
The Captain glanced at his station. "Well, first off will be onboarding our new Marine. Then the usual pile of paperwork and some range training." He looked back over at the Lieutenant. "So Lieutenant, why don't you tell us a little about yourself and your experience?"
Jasmine smiled and nodded. “I was born in the East end of London in 2363. I lost my parents in late 2375 we were visiting Starfleet HQ in San Francisco when the Breen attacked the earth. After that, I ended up in a children’s home.” She paused. “Had all the usual counselling. The long, and short of it are I was lucky to meet and become friends with Alexandria Somers, as soon as I reached eighteen I enlisted in the SFMC.”
“I graduated in 2385, ranked 2nd Lieutenant. My first assignment was aboard Deep Space 5. After two years there I was recruited into the 95th Rifles, in 2390 I moved to Starbase 22, received my promotion to 1st Lieutenant in 2392 before being assigned to Starbase 332. Now here I am finally aboard the Tomcat. It’s where I wanted to be so it’s all the more exciting.”
Mazal listened intently to what Jasmine was telling them about her life. She was pretty impressed by it all, also having a compassionate expression in her eyes. "My condolences to your loss, Lieutenant. I am glad you are with us though."
“Thank you, Lieutenant, it’s nice to be here” Jasmine smiled warmly. “I think I’m going to have plenty of fun here when I’m not on duty.”
"We do take our liberty seriously here." The Captain nodded. "Just don't end up in the brig." He paused. "Too often." He looked at the new Lieutenant. "What weapons are you particularly keen on?"
Jasmine offered a smile at the prior comment about the brig, before turning her attention to answering the question. “To be honest I’ve made it my priority to be the best at everything I do. I’m fully weapons proficient, small arms would be my weapon of choice alongside a blade, and hand to hand combat. I have no problem with a rifle, but they’re more cumbersome to carry around. I prefer to travel light in a combat situation.”
"What is your favourite sort of blade?" Jasmine's remark caught Mazal's interest. "And it is good to make sure you pass your own best, makes a person more sharp and accurate."
Jasmine looked towards Mazal. “I’d have to say the standard combat knife, alongside that of a Klingon dak'tagH. I know it’s not standard issue weaponry but I like to practice with it.”
"I can see no problem with you having that blade." Mazal replied, with a smile, "I'm not a stringent XO. And it actually is more of Captain Jackson's call as well." the brunette looking towards him.
Jasmine nodded and looked towards Jackson, she had to wonder if he was a man who let his hair down off duty. She enjoyed male company, probably more than she should given that she tended to get around.
Jackson leaned back in his chair, "Well glad to have you aboard but the Lieutenant and I need to do some discussion on the current mission. "
Mazal took a look at Jackson, then looked at Jasmine. "We'll definitely get back together and I'll be introducing myself to the rest of the troops later on."
Jasmine nodded. “It’s been nice meeting both of you, and I look forward to serving with you both.”
"And the same with us," Mazal answered with a smile, then she turned towards Jackson who gave a nod.
"You are dismissed." Mazal then said, "And once more welcome aboard.
