Location: Holodeck 1 - Niagara Falls, Earth
Timeline: Prior to Away Team Departures

Lilli hovered nervously outside the holodeck with Jane, the wedding venue was set up and ready to go. Lilli had chosen Niagara Falls on Earth, somewhere she’d always wanted to visit. The area for the wedding venue was set up on the viewpoint overlooking the falls.
Lilli’s dress was a figure-hugging A-line wedding dress, with a short train for ease of movement. She was waiting for her queue to enter, wondering if Leland was feeling as nervous as she was.
Jane standing with the gorgeous bride. Thankfully Lilli permitted her to use some judgment in picking an outfit, so she wore a tasteful black mid-thigh-length dress that was cute but didn't distract from the woman getting married. She held her small bouquet and waited patiently for the musical signal. "Are you nervous?" she asked.
Lilli nodded. “Nervous is an understatement! I’m terrified! What if I make a mess-up of my vows? What if Leland changes his mind?” She paused to take a big breath. “I can do this, I know I can.”
"Of course you can!" Jane encouraged her, gently rubbing her shoulder. "And he'll be just as nervous as you. And messing up the vows will be endearing," she joked.
Remington was there in his new command colour Dress Uniform and he was wearing the required Chosen Man sash. He was very honoured that his new friend, Leland, had felt close enough to ask him to stand up with him. The nerves of the bridegroom were all over the place as were those of the bride. The tension was high but not negative, more anxiety than anything.
"Dude you are fine, stop fidgeting and standstill." The holo-recorders are active and this is being recorded for you and Lilli to watch next year on your anniversary." Dodd stated as he leaned over to whisper it into Leland's ear. oO What a nice cologne he is wearing. Oo Dodd thought as he straightened up to a proper stance.
Hawksley, on the outside, was calm. At least he had thought. His fidgeting fingers and walking around in circles, his mind was addressing Lilli. This was it. This was the day. Their day, Lilli and Leland. He was feeling like a fool for not having better prepared.
"I knew this day would come," Leland spoke to Dodd. His eyes are searching for some reassurance. "I just never knew I'd feel this..." He then tugged a bit at his neck collar. "... Man. It is getting warm in here. How does Niagara Falls make things warm?!" Hawk then closed his eyes, smiling as he did—his thoughts to himself for the moment.
Alex was surprised by the sudden wedding of two of the crew, she was currently in her quarters putting on her 95th Rifles dress uniform grumbling at junior officers. Eventually, she was ready and now decked out in her dress uniform, now she hurried out of her quarters and to the nearest lift still grumbling as the doors closed "Holodeck One" she said and thankfully the lifts were in excellent working order and in no time she exited on the holodeck level and headed right to holodeck one.
Finally, she entered the holodeck "I wish you lot would have given me more damn warning of this, you are lucky I am willing to do the ceremony on such a short occasion" she said complaining as she took her place at the spot reserved for the vicar, she picked up the book there and looked for the correct page as the rest got themselves sorted.
"Ma'am, I was caught off guard with the young ones' decision to get hitched at all. I tried to convey to them that they need to be free and live life to the fullest and most fun way possible. Then they go and decide to get joined in matrimony." Dodd started to LTC Somers. Then he motioned to her to straighten her sash.
A flurry of motion occurred around him. The holodeck had been set. The flowers had been placed side by side near a small makeshift Altar. The mist in the air, the breeze swelling up from below. Leland knew Niagara Falls well, having visited both Canadian and American sides having lived in the region on Earth. The holodeck did it justice. He felt like he was there.
"Colonel," Leland mumbled, still blather, as his brown eyes focused out on the horizon. The mist and scene around him cooling him now, as a wave of calm serenity, as every cell of his being had transcended. Hawk knew as he turned to face the entryway. His eyes fixated on Lilli. She was his soul mate. His reason, a bright smile formed triumphant seeing his Wife-to-be.
The music began, and as it did so, the holodeck doors opened to reveal Lilli and Jane. Lilli's eyes fell on Leland as she made her way across to the man who meant the entire universe to her. Feeling some annoyance coming from Somers, she made a mental note to apologize for the rush job later.
Leland gazed as the scene before him was met with his eyes. Everyone, everything evaporated. The white glow of his angel was coming to him. Hawk stood tall, proud, and damn lucky to have her as his wife. His hand anxiously awaited to take hers in holy matrimony.
As the music queue alerted Lilli and Jane the holodeck doors opened to reveal Lilli in her dress, as she walked down the aisle with Jane her eyes were firmly fixed on Leland, only detracting to Remington for a few moments to give him a smile. She was soon standing proudly at Leland’s side.
Leland had watched the small but formal procession. She was more incredible than the first time he had laid eyes on Lilli. Her gown, Lilli's dark long hair had flowed right to him. Leland didn't have words. He smiled at Lilli and reached for her hand to hold at that moment.
Jane smiled as she watched the lovebirds gaze at each other. She quietly took her place, nodding to Colonel Somers and Commander Dodd as she did so.
Lilli happily took hold of Leland’s hand as they turned to look at Somers.
The first time in doing this she picked up the old fashioned book and read out loud "attention all please, we are here to witness and celebrate the joining of Lieutenant Junior Grade Leland Hawksley and Staff Sergeant Lilliana Vail in the honourable bonds of matrimony" she said and looked at Hawksley as the ring bearer approached "Lieutenant Hawksly, please pick up the ring and say your vows then place the ring on the bride's finger" Somers said.
Leland had done as was requested. Taking the ring, feeling its chromite silver steel band. As Hawksley had several diamonds placed inside that were created from dilithium crystal for Lilli's ring herself. Having placed it along with Lilli's waiting finger. The ring symbolized their vow to each other. Husband and Wife.
"Staff Sergeant Lilliana Vail, Counsellor. Medic. My Best Friend..." Hawk turned to Lilli with a lit of smile in his eyes. "Today you will be my wife, but we will be soulmates forever.” Hawksley faced Lilli, his serious incantations prominent on his face. These were not just words to Leland. The serenity, the affection, the kindness that Lilli represented had to be cherished and protected. She warmed him throughout his body. "Every sense of my being is bestowed to you, your soul. Our Souls."
"Lilli. As we grow a family, I promise to work together, to be equal partners in life and to remember the amazing person I married. You are my Wife. I am your Protector.”
Lilli smiled the biggest smile yet as she looked at Leland, his vows were heartfelt. She turned to look at Somers waiting for her turn to place Leland’s ring on his finger.
with a smile, she nodded at Leland "okay, Sergeant Vail, your turn" Somers said indicating for the Staff Sergeant to say her vows and place the wedding ring on Leland's finger.
Lilli nodded and turned to Leland holding his hands she gave him a teary-eyed smile. “Leland, we haven’t known each other very long, but in the time that we have, I’ve come to love you more than I ever thought possible. You make me feel like I can do anything I put my mind to, and if I fall you’ll be there to catch me.” Lilli paused to gather her emotions, which were threatening to turn her into a blubbering wreck. “From this day forward I will love and cherish you, I will honour and care for you until the end of our days.” With that, she slipped the ring on his finger.
"Excellent, you have both said your vows and professed your love for each other, so if for any reason anyone is opposed to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace," Somers said and paused while she waited.
Jane stood beside the bride and smiled silently. She had nothing to say.
Leland’s eyes scanned the room silently, curious in nature. He confidently stood with his best man Dodd at his side. He smiled at Lilli.
Lilli smiled back she couldn’t wait to hear the words that confirmed their status as a married couple. She knew their honeymoon would have to wait though.
Dodd glanced at Hawksley, then at Vail. He knew they were really in love but he could not get the night they all shared of his mind. But for his friendship with Hawksley, he knew he needed to act as if it never happened and move on. Dodd was happy to stand at Hawksley's side and support him in this joyous event.
Lilli smiled warmly as she looked towards Remington, he was a good friend to them both and she planned to have him over to join them again in the future. She looked back towards Somers.
Free love Leland had stood there, dedicated to his wife now. He would aim to please and respect Lilli to the best of his manhood to do so for his Wife. He knew what both Dodd and Lilli must have been thinking at some point.
Yeah, that part was giving in nature, yet he would continue to be the best of friends and utmost support and crew member of the Tomcat he could be. It was as simple as that to Hawksley's Joie de vivre!
Hawksley had winked at Lilli and felt like an eternity was passing. He knew they could not honeymoon. However, they would spend how much leave and what Lilli had wanted for them as newlyweds he flexed his large engineer hands wanting, waiting to take his Wife's hand into his and kiss his bride, to celebrate his love with Friends and well, yeah, Leland's parents would be shocked.
*Smiling* "Both have said their vows and none has contested their union, so as per Starfleet regulations that are invested in me, I now pronounce you both man and wife, you may kiss the bride," Somers said to both Hawksely and Vail.
Lilli grinned like the proverbial Cheshire cat as she stepped up to her husband and gave him a romantic kiss.
Leland let his lips touch, taste and kiss Lilli's soft, sweet ones. He smiled in his kiss, feeling this in front of their friends. Yet he smiled again, knowing this feeling was true, as he held Lilli's head close to her cheeks and his face as he kissed and then broke it, after needing air!
Lilli grinned holding onto Leland as they both looked toward Somers before looking at their friends with thanks.
Jane grinned and clapped, happy for these two friends of hers. "Woo!" she cheered.
Dodd was truly happy for his friends and also a little jealous of Hawksley. Dodd should have been married by now himself. But his Imzadi had decided that her needs were with her recently found cousin and helping him get a new life built from nothing.
"Congratulations, my friends," Dodd stated as he grinned from ear to ear which could be from some of the wild thoughts running around in the newlyweds' minds. "I trust you will find a good use for what free time you have before the next mission starts."
Lilli grinned as she looked at Leland. “Ohh I’m sure we will.”
Leland simply nodded, embarrassed of events, any type. "Sir. Yes, Sir." He smiled halfway realizing the Commander's comments.
Looking at the Pair, you each have one day to celebrate this day, sadly duty will call you back after that, everyone is dismissed" Somers said stepping down from the podium.
