Mission: S03 Ep 04 Captive State Part 1 (Main)
Location: Planet 569701-D or Arth as known to the inhabitants
Timeline: current

The four crewmates had walked for about three kilometres and started to see signs of humanoid settlements.

"Look there is a dwelling and what looks like some small business like units," Lee stated as she pointed over to a very small cluster of buildings. "I think we may find some details there to start with."

Lee then started in that direction with a little more spring in her step as this was exciting for her. A mission where she would be in her element was a bonus for her.

Ze followed soon behind his tricorder up scanning for any relevant information, a smile adorning his face "Reminds me a little of the earth in a way this is quite exciting" his tricorder in his hand he looked to its readings "Well looks like the settlement is quite close to the parameters of earth 20th/21st century so this is quite extraordinary" Ze spoke in an excited tone.

"Ze makes sure you hide the tricorder from view before we approach anyone," Lee stated as she heard it humming. "We have to appear to be part of the native people and that will set us apart. I hope that we can blend in and learn a lot from personal interactions." Lee excitingly stated as she started to walk a little faster towards the first dwelling.

Ze stowed his tricorder in his backpack "Understood Liutennant lee" he said looking around at the hustle and bustle of the place they had landed on, ze loved adventure and he would do his best to be an asset on this mission.

Kildare sped up and caught up with their team leader "um El-tee, might I make a suggestion, I know you are super excited and all, but we have to blend into the culture, I am almost sure if they meet a grown woman who was like the energizer bunny on a high caffeine kick it would raise some eyebrows" Kildare said quietly to Lee.

"Thank you, I almost lost it for us," Alexandra replied. "I am glad you are here Chris. You are so right, I need to calm down and remember I need to blend in and not stand out."

Ze slowed up as well, this was a first contact mission and the prime directive needed to be upheld "Think I'm going to follow suit with that one. I have to remember the prime directive and all" he said in a whisper.

"We need to be alert and yet keep our stories straight. We are from the small village of Yomkay. It is a village on the southernmost habitable island on this planet and it is mainly a fishing village of about two hundred they seldom come to this region so that will help with us not being fully aware of where things are. I looked that data up from the charts in the outpost." Lee replied. "I tend to memorize things in a very short period."

"Interesting El-tee" was all Kildare said in response as he followed the rest towards the village.

Ze noted everything that was said "Understood lieutenant," he said as he followed the others towards the village a myriad of thoughts spinning in his head as his feet tried to find their way on an alien planet.

"Ze, are you alright old chap," Paul asked speaking in the voice he was using whilst here, he knew that if one of the parties vanished suddenly it would draw attention to them.

Ze smiled as he looked at Chris "Oh old chap I'm doing just fine just trying to get my bearings is all" he said trying to readjust himself with his backpack.

The four members of the away team were now in the village and doing all they could to not stand out but yet they were making many observations and attempting to do their mission.

Lee was already observing the way the buildings looked and how the women here seemed to be more like the men of old Earth cultures. Here men appeared to be the minority and not in power. She noticed the shopkeepers in the shops they passed were mostly female. While there were men present they seemed to not be at the same level as the women. As an anthropologist, Lee would keep that in mind as she lead the team deeper into the village to do their mission.

"Chris, have you noticed the use of any currency or such?" Lee asked of the marine as she was busy watching but never saw any exchange for the goods the customers were departing with.

"None Alexandria, they might have favours as a currency or some kind of credit or it could be barter, but I do notice that this planet is a lot like the planet Angel One, which the enterprise D encountered around 2364/65 it had a very strong Matriachical Society feel to it" Kildare responded as he saw the few males defer to the women of the planet.

"I bet the women here work to keep the barter system well-tuned and thus all the deals are prearranged in the conference and then the males or children can just get what is needed when needed," Lee replied. "We need to keep on a mission. Maybe all the locals think you three are my servants or such. Anyway, let's get on course for our objective." Lee added.

"Me a Servant," replied Paul looking back at Alexandria as he knew Serena would laugh at the comment and keep it up for a few weeks, so he wouldn't tell her about this.

Kildare looked at Winchester in surprise "you are already a slave Paul, you are a slave to the Fleet" Chris said teasing the Security Chief and then looking to Lee as she spoke.

"I don't think of you that way, Paul, but for the success of the mission we have to do our darnedest to blend in while here in a society we know bupkis about," Lee replied. "So let's do a little shopping and barter some things we may have that are not vital to our mission and not a means to blow our cover." She continued.

"Ok, Let's go," replied Paul as he hated shopping as he knew that being dragged around the shops was not his idea of fun, but if needed must for the mission then he would put up with it.

Ze wondered with the rest of the crew trying to catch, some passing conversations. Ze was good at reading other people's body language, he couldn't tell if they were talking about currency but knew from what he was hearing from the team that there was a barter system in place.

Falling back till he was next to Ze looking at him "You look troubled Tosrol, what is it?" Kildare asked the Chief of Operations Officer

Ze looked to Kildare there was something off, maybe it was his empathy trying to tell him something was about to go wrong but there was this feeling in the pit of his stomach telling him to tell the others to keep close-knit "I've got a bad feeling Kildare and I don't ignore these feelings I've seldom ever been wrong" his face crossed looking from person to person sussing the situation out.

"In this situation call me Chris and I may not have your ability, but I am sensing that something is going to go wrong, I have been on the front lines way too long, defused too many explosive devices not to feel uneasy, I am with you on that my friend!" Kildare said in response.

Ze smiled "Chris it is forgiving the formalities it's custom on betazoid," he said with a slight laugh "Call me To all my friends do," he said with a smile "I have no idea where this threat is but I can tell you the pit in my stomach will not let up and I don't like it" his eyes scanned further to see if you could grab a tell on what it was that kept his nerves on edge.

"We are a pair are we not Tos! Your empathy is ringing alarm bells and my frontline battle senses are also sounding the alert, whatever happens, this is not going to go the way we expect" Chris added and fell silent as they walked on.
