Mission:
General Sim Postings
Location: Main Sickbay
Timeline: 1817 Hours
[ON]
The sickbay was presented with four beams of energy that turned out to be Lieutenant JG Jarel Haze, who had a nasty cut across his neck and was bleeding. In addition, 2nd Lieutenant Cassandra Matthews had been wounded in several places and was now bleeding out.
Rhys was presumed dead, who had been the main attacker of the event in the E6, Engineering junction.
Lieutenant Hawksley had beamed in with the other three after initiating the site-to-site emergency transport from the Jeffries tube to Sick Bay.
"Doctor Sinclair." Hawksley had called as he sat up from the biobed he was pre-beamed, "I have three wounded officers. I don't know what happened. I was not there when Rhys attacked Haze and Matthews. I only responded."
Jane emerged from the office at the foundation of the transporters bringing people in. Nurses and orderlies immediately began getting three of the four to biobeds right away. "Thanks, Leland. Step back, please. There's a bench over there." She followed the most grievously wounded, the Marine called Rhys who wasn't breathing, while another doctor began triaging the Marine called Matthews.
Hawksley stood aside to see the event unfold in the Sick Bay. There would need to be a Security accounting of what happened, as prior, there was a broad ship communication from Jarel Haze stating the emergency unfolding and that he was in trouble, as was Matthews.
The long beeeeeeep.. sounded shortly after Private first class Rhys Antakos's body appeared in its med bed.
"Damn," Jane said. "Neural stimulators," she called and was immediately given two devices, which she put on the man's head. "Seventy microvolts." The young man's brain received a shock, causing his body to convulse. "Again." Another jolt. "No response. Increase to ninety microvolts." Another shock. "One-ten microvolts." Another shock, but this time not even a convulsion. Jane sighed. "Time of death, eighteen-twenty hours."
She promptly left the deceased's side and joined her colleagues around Cassandra Matthews.
The sound hailed the death of the young man. Cassandra who had been in the midst of attempting to pound Rhys into the deck appeared still flailing but soon calmed and quieted as calm faces surrounded her. It was hard to breathe and she looked around wildly until her eyes rested on the body a few beds away. He was dead... She let the nurses lay her back down. Her voice was gone. Her throat was swollen and bruised. Her body was riddled with agony. But rolling her eyes over to the engineer in the bed on her left side she felt strangely happy.
As for Jarel, he had never in his life encountered such a de bola. He still was trying to sort out the event clearly. One second he was off to change out a gel pack .. no.. he was installing a new type of gel pack. Then... Boom.
He looked over at his CO Hawksley remembering something important. He tried to say. "The Sephelax if it leaks could cause a toxic cloud if it mingled with a biological component, like blood.". It was a desperate hoarse whisper. "Someone needs to secure the gel packs, f they go gaseous and get into the ventilation..." His hand clung to the bed as he tried to talk past all the damage done to his neck.
Hawksley got up and walked between both Matthews and Haze's biobeds. Both were in a situation that needed immediate medical attention. Hawksley held both hands into him at the same time, tightening them in his grasp as his eyes searched from one wounded officer to the next, his Engineering Officer.
"It's going to be ok. We are in sickbay now." When Leland heard Haze speak quietly with little energy...
"It's ok. I have Ensign Willox on the Engineering fix now. There is no problem. You saved us with an ingenious method." Leland smiled and pressed his large engineering hand calloused across that of Haze's head, "Relax, Haze. We need you." Then Leland turned to Matthews. "You as well this is an order." Hawksley held back tears for his two officers who were ambushed cruelly enough.
"Doctor! Doctor Sinclair. Jane!" Leland had called. They had just arrived moments ago in sick bay on the biobeds, Leland standing in between the two with Rhys dead on the last bed.
"Leland, I know you care, but get back," Jane said forcefully. "We have this in hand, but it's harder with you close."
Tosrol Ze was a man who seldom had ever been wrong, his gut feeling was telling him something was off, be it his empathy or his instincts. He was at his desk in security when he heard the klaxon go off. He looked on his computer to find something had happened in engineering, he poked his head out of his office door,
"Teton you have security, for now, I have to get to sickbay I have an awful feeling something happened" he spoke as he tore out of his office and towards the sick bay.
Landing in the turbo lift "Computer take me to sick bay" he spoke as she nervously danced on the spot "Sickbay" the computer spoke as he tore out of the lift arriving at the door of sick bay.
He looked around at what he could only describe as a horror scene and right in the middle he saw the one person he feared was hurt, Leland Hawksley. He stepped into sickbay "Doctor what in the name of all that is holy happened?" He spoke as he looked around at the bodies "I will get a security team posted outside can someone explain how this happened?" He wasn't angry really he was worried for Leland and everyone else on the biobeds, he would need investigative protocols as soon as possible.
Leland turned to Ze, a relief of sight. "Ze. It's Rhys... Rhys was the one. I don't know why he attacked Haze and Matthews." Leland was not hurt only there to ensure that the officers were in supportive hands, which Sickbay always was. "You're going to have a hard time finding words from Rhys tho." Leland pointed to the deadline on the biobed overtop of Rhys.
"Can this wait five minutes?" Jane called behind her toward Hawksley and Ze. Cassandra's uniform had been cut open to expose the deepest cuts, which Jane was trying to treat. Three rather significant arteries had been lacerated and needed individual sealing before she could close the wounds.
"How is Mr Haze doing, Doctor Ibrahim?"
"Stable, Doctor Sinclair," replied her junior doctor. "Local anaesthetic is in place. The worst of the wound is closed. Checking the rest of him now. Nurses are setting up a transfusion."
"I need one here too," Jane called. Two nurses came with a bag of appropriately-typed replicated blood for each patient. "Set up a jugular line, right side. She'll need more than one." Doctor Ibrahim was giving his own orders for his own patient.
Cassandra fought to keep awake. The doctor and nurses were fighting so hard. So she also needed to give them her maximum effort. Still, it felt like a weight was strapped to the back of her mind trying to pull it down, down, down. Her mind fought for things to think about, to focus on. She couldn't speak. Her throat felt as if it was packed with cotton or something. It was so hard to breathe and she was feeling so tired... She felt the sting of needles piercing her neck. She had not the strength to flinch away. The pain was good. The fresh stinging pressure reminded her of the most important fact. She was still alive. Her mind in its haziness dredged up a line she hadn't heard in years, from a movie older than dirt. It made her smile slightly though. As the nonsensical scene played out in her mind as she fought for her life with the doctors. oO I don't want to go on the cart. Oo she thought with a spark of mirth to help fight the blackness at the edge of her vision.
Jarel had also settled down once Hawksley had explained the situation to him again. Everything was okay. Everything was safe and secure. He tried not to move too much as the doctor above him worked their magic. Human engineers are what his daughter Helen called me. Thinking of his children made him panic a little and he heard his heart jump on the monitor as he realized just now how close they had come to losing their father. With Lenore so sick and with such little time left to her. How would it have affected her as well? To get the news he was killed, and murdered even, though he had not been afraid before.
Not really. It had all happened so fast. He felt the numbing agent and then felt the pressure of the line going into him. He wanted his family. Missed them suddenly as though he hadn't seen them in forever instead of the few weeks he'd been away so far. He wished they were here and also praised god that they were not because he didn't really want them to see him like this. It was all so very confusing. He simply closed instead to try to listen to what else might be going on around him.
Ze watched everything unfold in front of him, so much had happened he stepped away from the scene, it was an absolute horror scene he needed to get himself into a frame of mind better suited to the situation, he snapped around looking at doctor Sinclair "Doctor Sinclair can I borrow your office? I will start getting evidence of exactly what transpired Leland if you would id like to speak to you alone" he spoke in a clear and understanding tone, first off he wanted to check that Leland was ok and secondly he wanted to get Lelands recounting of the events.
"Go ahead," Jane called back to the security chief. "Back there, on your right. I'll join you when we're done." She was finishing the most difficult work with Matthews. It wouldn't be long before she was out of danger, and it sounded like Haze, while in a rough patch, would be fine too.
Ze walked into the corridor outside Medical and found Leland who was taking a breather he looked at the Chief Engineer, "hey Lieutenant, I figured I would catch you in Medical, I need to talk to you about current events, just so as I can get a baseline to start my investigation" Ze said
Leland walked back into the Medical office as he was standing out in the hallway while the Doctors worked on Haze and Matthews. Things were solid since they were in good hands with Dr Sinclair.
"Ze. I am here. no need to call me on the coms." Hawksley walked into the Medical Office.
*Looking at Leland* "please give me a rundown on the events as you know them if you will please Lieutenant?" Ze asked as he began his investigations.
Leland repeated to Ze what he had witnessed. From the point that Lieutenant JG Haze had left to work on the engineering Sepherlax Gel pack to the end that 2nd Lieutenant Cassandra Matthews had been wounded in several places.
Rhys was presumed dead, whom Leland imparted that Lieutenant JG Haze had stated was the main attacker of the event in the E6, Engineering junction.
“…Hence all of us meeting here now in the Sick Bay, Lieutenant Ze. This is all I am aware of what has happened.” Hawksley was calm and concerned for his fellow crew members.
Ze knew leland well enough to know that this had shaken him up "Thats more than enough for me to stat my investigation leland lets get you drink steady those nerves" he said glasping his friend on the back.
