The moment Alex got clearance from Tomcat flight control the Venture class scout shot out of the shuttle bay like a Bat out of Hell, but the flight was smooth and steady regardless of the low SIF level. When they had cleared the Tomcat's defence perimeter due to the confines of the ship she simply spoke loudly.

"Thank you for flying Somers airways, please keep your tray tables in the upright position and seatbelts can be removed a smooth ride is expected on the leg of our journey," she said looking back with a smile, then to Haze "Mr Haze activate the sensor jamming suite you and the Engineering team installed for us, I know we are a good distance out, but I do not know how good the Terran sensors are, also check your kit, remember your tasks," Somers said, "I will stop near the anomaly for you to get all the readings you need okay Mr Silver?" She asked.

"Aye aye," Haze said already moving to the station to fulfil his task.

" Thank you, ma'am. Ted replied

As they moved nearer to the anomaly Ted's eyes were glued to the sensor readings. The data coming in confirmed that the thing was now two-way. But there was something else that caught his eye. Small patterns of almost whisper-like energy. Seemed to be emanating from the outpost. But they were not picking up any increase in power. Meaning whatever they were using to create that thing was shielded.

" Oh, these people are clever. Whatever they are using on the outpost. To keep that thing going must be hidden. The amount of power needed to produce it. Would be detectable from here. But the sensors cant pick it up. If they're hiding that.....what else are they up to?" Ted said aloud.

From her pilot seat "They are Terran's Lieutenant, our Darker Starfleet version can be somewhat industrious when they put their minds to it as they are not afraid to cut corners and do things our rules require safeties for" Somers said as she held stationary orbit for a moment "Mr Haze get you some Engineering sensor readings too, remember you and Mr Silver will need a way to permanently close that thing, Lieutenant Sh'shraaqir scan for any communication signals, receive only and see if you can find out anything, we will remain here a few more minutes then we will have to move on" Somers added and sat back

"Yes ma'am. Already on it." Haze said with a smile as a few of his scans came to their conclusions. "Definitely, being aided by a power stabilizer from the station. " He pointed out to the data displayed on the screen. "The increased Takyon output of the station's converters. It's siphoning the extra mega chrysiltomes allowing the anomaly to stay in a stable cycle which is helping it to remain open. It's fascinating. Will be interesting to see how they managed to do it with that outdated equipment."

Thyra was on the communication and listened through all the frequencies. Somehow everything seemed quiet until she caught something. "I am picking up communication coming from the anomaly. Well, that confirmed they did something to it. And they want to do some tests. It's pretty vague, but I think they want to send something through." She looked over to Ted. "Anything with the Anomaly itself?"

Ted turned to Haze as he ran his hands over a tricorder.

" So Jarel what do you have in mind for shutting old charlie boy out there down?" Ted asked.

"I say we just launch a couple of tricobalt torpedoes at the station and be done with it. If we destroy the base, the tachyons will disperse and the rift will destabilize, collapsing in on itself." C'Tirr said matter of factly. It was the only thing he could think of as he was just the muscle.

Jarel paused in his vigorous typing you could see him thinking as his head turned to C'Tirr. "That actually would work." He nodded as if confirming it with himself and then began to type at his screen again looking over at Silver. "Let me know if I have the projections correct won't you? There's a chance any resulting shockwave from the collapse of the anomaly might have an effect on the local star system on course."

Ted ran his fingers over the tricorder.

" Oh dear.......oh dear dear dear... Yes, it will destroy the rift. But the shockwave will wipe us, The Tom Cat and the nearest three planets to dust. Plus any idea what this energy spike is? It's not constant but it seems to be coming from the colony to the anomaly.

"Yeah, I had a bad feeling that you might say that. There might be a way to make it implode. We could find a way to throw the station into the rift. The explosion will follow the path of least resistance. Not only solving the station issue but also closing the rift and destroying anything coming through it. Which could account for that odd signal by the way Mr Silver." Jarel said trying not to sound as frightened as he was feeling as he ran the projections.

Ted could hear the tension in Jarels voice. That was why he did not answer Thyra yet. Although he should have.

" There still would be a shockwave. But it may not be as troublesome." Ted said.

Still, with a worried look on his face, Jarel nodded "I hope you are right Ted, I so hope you are right!" he added.

Thyra looked patiently at Ted. "Colonel, I intercepted a message that seems to come from the anomaly. I would like science to confirm there is nothing coming from the anomaly itself as I requested." Her voice was calm and collected. She didn't know why he ignored her last question. She didn't think she scared him off that badly last time.

Ted felt a little guilty. He had not meant to be rude.

"Get on it Lieutenant, but make it quick I will be taking us to the Outpost in an hour, Mr Silver please look at the Lieutenant's data," Somers said.

" I can confirm Thyra's data Ma'am. Someone on the outpost is trying to make it look like a signal is coming from the anomaly. When in truth it is coming from the outpost. Clever very clever. But a little worrying just the same." Ted said

"Keep an eye on it, Mr Silver, any comm information you get make sure Mr Sh'shraaqir gets your data," Somers said

Thyra grabbed her hair bun and rolled it out, making sure it hit Ted slightly, before putting it back in her bun. "Sorry I hate it when my hair peaks that's so annoying, especially when we are about to go into battle." She looked at her screen. "Also I have younger siblings. If you do as well, you'd get it." She suppressed a little giggle. "Nothing else on any frequencies, Colonel."

Ted gave Thyra the thumbs up.

“ Don’t worry. These things happen. But we are nearing the outpost. It may be a good idea to put your EVA suits helmet on now. Who knows what those people on the outpost are going to throw at us.” Ted warned.

"Agreed, helmets on people, I am about to activate the anti-detection suite on this ship, remember we will be invisible to their sensors, but not to the naked eye or close up, so shut down all non-essentials and activate EVA suits, we go in silently, to add that extra element, okay going to warp and then when we drop from warp we will be going dark, I will use the thrusters on full for ten seconds and then deactivate everything expects the camo and only use breaking thrusters when we get to the station," Somers said as she put her helmet on.

Haze managed to control his nerves and put his helmet on, he made sure the seals were solid and had another check his suit and the same was done for each of them.

Ted had already put his on. Which was why he was able to notice a red light flashing on his tricorder.

“ Oh oh. That strange signal coming from the outpost to the anomaly is increasing.” Ted warned.

Thyra put her helmet on. She heard a click and she knew the helm was secured on her suit. Thyra looked at the frequencies. "I got no communications as of yet, so no messages are sent to the anomaly. Let's stay cautious."

C'tirr clasped his helmet on and shouldered his bag. He positioned himself by the exit and waited for them to arrive. He had cleared his mind of everything but took down all opposition.

The ship dropped from a short warp jump and Somers fired the thrusters on a five-second burst and then shut the engines down to standby, now they were moving forward on momentum alone "Okay, now we must be quiet, eta five minutes at current speed" Somers said then fell silent.

Five minutes later...

Finally, they arrived, Somers applied some RCS thrusters to slow them down and orientate the ship so its airlock was connected to the station airlock, she paused the moment a seal was made to listen to see if they had alerted anyone. She sighed heavily, nothing happened.

Donovan pulled out a scanner and scanned "all clear in the auxiliary Cargo Bay, it is safe to enter" she said leading the way, when all were inside the room Somers did an air quality check and removed her helmet and looked at the others.

"Okay, get the rest of your equipment but be quiet, I want to keep our presence here quiet for as long as I can, any questions before we move forward?" Somers asked as Donovan stood by the bay door.

Looking nervously "I have nothing to ask Colonel," Haze said removing his helmet.

Ted did as ordered then he checked over a padd. His face went pale as he whispered.

“ Colonel once we blow this place and shut that thing out there. Will you be able to fly us away quickly? Only if we take the same time to get here as leave. We’ll be dead before we reach the Tomcat.” Ted asked and warned

Looking back at the DCSO "Lieutenant, I can assure you that when we leave here we will not be on a Sunday stroll it will be fast and hectic and against the clock, worry about your task and staying alive at least until we are on our way out of here" Somers said with a smile.

“ That’s good to hear Colonel,” Ted said, and then Ted moved towards Haze. “ So Jarel what’s your idea on how to blow this thing?” He asked.

Jarel looked around "I will need to get to this station's engineering section before I can answer that one Ted, this Outpost has similarities to Prime universe Starfleet, but as it is Terran I cannot give a definite answer, yet!" Haze said looking at Ted.

Silver nodded in acknowledgement.

C'tirr was waiting at the exterior hatch, his tail twitching furiously with anticipation and anxiety. He flexed the gauntlets to unsheathe and then sheath the two-inch metal claws concealed within. His two rifles were slung over each shoulder and his pack was on his back.

"Haze get the door will you and see if you can bypass this room's sensors so that they read as active, but detect no life signs?" the Colonel asked.

"On it, Colonel" Haze said and went to the nearest panel and opened it and got to work.

Speaking loud enough for all to hear in the room "you know Colonel the moment we leave this room the Terran sensors will detect us and our EVA suits will not stop that, our Prime Universe signatures will give us away. This base is alone deep in Federation Territory so security is going to be overly paranoid, you know this?" Donovan said.

"Oh, I know S'arila, I know it has always interested me to know what made the Mirror Universe like it is, what was the tipping point that made that universe go down the path it did!" Somers mused.

"Many theories," Thyra pitched in. "The most plausible being is that Earth's defence force, instead making a peaceful first contact, decided to take over the Vulcan envoy and then just conquered the Vulcans as a first act of aggression. It was quite interesting to read." She smiled. "I could list all the other theories but we have no time." She looked over to Silver. "Lieutenant, if you're interested I will make sure to get all the Terran data on this thing they build here."

Looking at the Andorian CIO "excellent" she looks over to Haze "how goes the tech bit Lieutenant?" She asked.

"I have done as asked where this cargo bay is concerned, but Major Donovan is correct about setting off the sensors, I cannot bypass those" Haze responded.

Lieutenant Haze seemed more sure of himself when doing engineering stuff Somers thought to herself

"Okay people ready your weapons and check them," Major Donovan said and did with hers as she asked of the others.

C'tirr had already checked his gear and was ready at the cargo bay doors. He gripped his two phaser rifles in a ready position with a feral growl mixed with a slight purr. His tail swished back and forth looking like a bristly snake as the adrenaline started to flow.

Ted checked his weapon and gave a thumbs up. But a red light on his tricorder made him look. “ I am reading an increase in power. It may be nothing or they know we are here.” Ted warned

"All the more reason to be heading out. I don't want to be caught with my pants down as you humans say." C'tirr said with a chuckle. He was all pumped up for the fight.

Thyra looked at her tricorder. She looked over to Somers and Silver as she shook her head. "They have noticed something, and they seem to be scanning the perimeter. Our rouse works. We still have the element of surprise."

"Well we will be moving out shortly so prepare yourselves," Somers said as Haze also checked his equipment"
