Mission: S3 Episode 5: Diplomatic Incident/Hydaransz Again (Incidentals)

Autumn was looking at various plans for the next date with Remy, the last one was wonderful and she enjoyed it immensely. In fact, Autumn kept the swimming suit from that date as she thought it beautiful.

Autumn glanced at the swimsuit that was hanging up and smiled, feeling all sorts of tingles at the memory of their kiss. She almost got lost in that memory then shook her head, she needed to concentrate.

Finally she just wrote out some questions to send to Remy, in order to get his response and help formulate the planning of the date. She had so many ideas spinning around in her head. Finally she just sent a message to Remy.

Remington, I was wondering about a few things. First off, do you like to dress up in costumes like say looking like someone from history, or a favorite character from a movie? Or do you want to be surprised as to what I am thinking of for our date? Sincerely, Autumn

Dodd was in his quarters when his PADD alerted he had a message. He was shocked as he did not get many messages in this manner and felt it was something worth looking into.

He read the message and then formulate how to respond.

Autumn, What a novel way to make this inquiry. I sort of like this old school message it adds to my longing to see you again. To address your questions. I say I don't like surprises but then I secretly enjoy them, so take that for what you will. I do like to get into holodeck stories and if that means getting dressed up, so be it. I like tales of the ancient world. I enjoy vintage superhero stories and mythical tales from the classic age of empires. The Romans and Norse had a fascinating history. The 1700's through the early 1900's were also interesting to me, especially from what used to be the United States of America. But I have also enjoyed stories based upon old Earth Motion Pictures. One motion picture I have pondered about was something called 'Grease', I have not seen it but why would you make a movie about something you use on an engine to lubricate the gaskets? Anyway, anything you have planned will be fun and a change of pace from our daily grind. Lost in Longing, Remy

Dodd then sent the reply with a pondering thought about what the beautiful and young ensign had up her sleeve. He was envisioning her in the swimsuit form their date and he needed to go get a cold shower to bring him back to reality.

Autumn got the ping that indicated she had a return message, when she saw that it was from Remy, she squealed quietly and spun in her chair, before reading the message he sent.

Playing with the pencil she had in her hand, Autumn making a pencil moustache as she contemplated her response to Remy, then she sent back this message. Okay, I will surprise you. There will be costumes for you to choose when you arrive in the holosuite. I'll see you there around, 1900 tonight. I am looking forward to seeing you-Autumn then she sent that back to him. Once that was done, Autumn checked on her reservation to the holosuite, it was still there.

Remy was lounging au' natural on his sofa playing a video game he had recreated called 'Q-Bert' when he got the ping on his PADD. He checked the message and saw that it was a reply from Autumn and he read it over then was sort of piqued by the surprise and the time of the next one on one time with a beautiful girl.

So he then stopped his game and he wondered what to wear since he was going to have a costume when he got there. So he figured just a pair of basketball shorts, a tank-top and his favorite pair flip-flops. As he pondered what was in store for him, he wished it was time to actually head to the holodeck but he realized he still had two hours to go. Now he was just going to head to the lounge and get a drink until it was time to have his rendezvous with Autumn.

It was time, and Autumn was ready, or so she hoped. Her red hair was loose and flowing, brushed until it shone. She stood upon a wooden dock where a ship could be lashed to the docking ring to keep it from floating away. Behind her was a village, wooden buildings with thatched roofs. Pine trees were standing like quiet guardians in the background. Her clothing was an purple apron dress, worn over a white under dress. Upon her feet were soft boots made of animal hide and she wore a cloak over her shoulders, trimmed with fur. The time period for this date, was the Viking age.

Awaiting for Remington's arrival was a longship which had the figurehead of a dragon.

Remy arrived at the holodeck about five minutes early from the time he was told to arrive, but he could not drink any more if he wanted to behave himself on the date. The Holodeck door opened and he saw a maiden that was breathtakingly beautiful and he felt the pride she had for creating her date program. He was anxious to see what she had in store for him.

"Well what a sight to behold." Remy replied. "I know you stated that costumes were involved but I would have gladly come in costume had you needed me to." Remy replied as he felt so out of place. "I will add here that you are very pleasing to the eyes of this shabby dressed man."

Autumn pointed toward the dragon ship, "Oh don't worry, just go there and you can pick out an outfit." she beamed. "I know I didn't tell you but, I wanted it to be a surprise. I've got it set up for you to get in costume. I worked on my costume in here." giving a light carefree laugh.

"Wow, you did a good job with this detail and keeping it from me. I have to admit you have an ability to keep your thoughts shielded and I am finding that oddly very attractive." Dodd replied as he started to walk to where she wanted him to pick his attire for their Norse themed date. He would do his best to pick the one that was the least amount of layers and yet be fitting for his budding relationship with Autumn.

After a few moments, he emerged dressed in a golden mustard colored tunic over brown pantaloons of the era of the Norse people. He had a wine colored cloak and wine colored leather gauntlets on his forearms. The boots were black leather and up to his knees and the trim on his tunic was coordinating combination of red, black and gold. He also had a black leather belt and a long sword for the role he thought he was to play. "Well, I hope this is an acceptable ensemble for your plans?" Dodd stated as he approached the young damsel before him.

The moment when Remy stepped out in his outfit, Autumn's jaw dropped open. She was speechless, as he looked fabulous! She drew near to get a look at him, walking around, reaching out to touch the cloth, feeling the texture. "You look amazing! " giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "We have a choice to go eat first or we go on a cruise on this fine ship and get some treasure. "

"I have all the treasure I need when you are at my side." Remy stated with a sinister smile. "But thank you for the compliment. I used items from various outfits you had available to me and made my own combination and I am glad you like it. However, I am open to what you would like to do first, I think I will enjoy this adventure date regardless how we start it."

"Well, this program has some random things happening, there will be some surprises for me as well." Autumn replied.

A horn is sounded and a call is sent out, a woman comes up and says, "Why are you just standing here, its Torsten Roric's birthday, what are you standing there for? Come or you will be missing the food!" the red headed woman clad in an dark red apron dress said to both Remy and Autumn.

Autumn looked at Remy, "Well then guess we can't miss that!" taking his hand and pulling him along. "And you called me a treasure." her cheeks turning a dark pink. Autumn's eyes sparkled and her eyes seemed to take on a greenish hue due to the color she was wearing.

Following the woman, who's name was Ingrid. Autumn glanced at Remy, as her ears picked up music, "Oh this sounds like its going to be fun."

Remy was filled with the wonder of a child as he watched this beautiful girl he is falling for pull him along on an adventure she planned that included surprises even for her. He was in awe of how she was able to program such a feat as well as get him to feel the way he is feeling which is happy and whimsical.

"So far, my dear, you have done a great job and this should be loads of fun. I could not imagine this adventure with any other person." Remy added with a pleasant grin and hint of a giggle.

They both rounded a corner and found themselves in the center of town with wooden table set up, several fires set up with sides of venison being roasted on a spit. It smelled good and Autumn smiled over at Remy. On a table there was breads and in a large cauldron there was a savory stew bubbling over another fire. Tankards of ale and other alchohol were available and upon a slightly raised platform was the man of the day, Torsten Roric, two women one on either side serving him more drink and making certain he had his food. They also were plying him with kisses as well, and he was laughing uproariously, returning the kisses. He even pulled one of the ladies upon his lap.

Ingrid looked at Remy and Autumn, "Grab something to eat, before the dancing occurs." then she left the two alone.

"Lets get some food and ooh! They have the bowls which are made out of bread!" Autumn heading over to get a 'bowl' and get some stew dished up inside.

"The aroma of this festival's flavorful offerings is making it hard to decide. I will go with a slab of venison and some bread and then some of this carrot and beet dish as well as the stewed cherries. I am likely going to need a long nap after eating like this." Remy stated as he took a mouthful of venison.

Taking a seat across from Remy, Autumn dug into her food, enjoying the savoriness of the stew and also taking a few bites of her venison. Each mouthful was just bursting with goodness. Autumn wasn't certain why the food was so flavorful but then perhaps part of it was her imagination or the program itself. Or was it due to her being seated across the table from the handsome Remington Dodd. Her eyes drank in the whole of the man, his smile the outfit, his beautiful eyes. She could scarcely keep her eyes off of him.

Autumn finally lowered her eyes to continue eating, realizing that her food was almost gone. Autumn looked back up towards Remy, smiling, with a closed mouth while she chewed her food.

The musicians that were playing, decided to take a break, in order to quench their thirst. In the lull, Autumn spoke, "I wonder what will occur next, so far this has been really good."

"I am thinking the musicians will return and continue the festivities, but I see the guest of honor is not phased at all by the lull of the music." Looking over at Torsten Roric to see him passionately embracing and kissing one of the girls that had been tending to him. "I am happy to be here with you, Autumn. This is a fitting break to the day and sure beats the orbiting of the station." Remy added as he was lost in the eyes of the beautiful radiance of the ginger haired Aphrodite across from him.

"That was some experience, being there seated in the XO's chair and then for the moment being in the captain's chair. So unexpected." Autumn remarked before she tore off a piece of her bread bowl and popped it in her mouth.

As she chewed, one of the other revelers came up, "How long are you two going to just gaze in each others eyes. We're setting up the maypole, finish your food and then come dance!"

Autumn's eyes widened, then looked at Remy. "What do you think?" she asked once her mouth was emptied.

"I would enjoy a few rounds of the maypole with you and the rest of the villagers." Remy stated as he took another bite of his venison and a swig of his lager.

Autumn just beamed, and finished her food, definitely looking forward to the dance. When they were done and the plates cleared off, Autumn took Remy by the hand intertwining her fingers with him. When they neared the maypole a circlet of flowers were placed upon Autumn's head, and and she smiled. The other ladies had circlets of flowers upon their heads as well. Long colorful ribbons were given to those dancing and all were prepared for the music to start.

Remy looked at Autumn with desire and longed for her embrace but they were about to join the villagers in the dance of the maypole. He noticed at that moment this village was one that had some involvement with traders from Britain as made evident with the maypole in the village. But that was good for him as he knew more about the era they were enjoying on the date. "You my dear are an absolute vision for me right now." He stated to Autumn. "I am really enjoying this and we have only just begun. I will say you have surprised me with the detail you implanted into this program and the lore that is unfolding is making me very curious about what you have in store."

Autumn blushed at his compliments. "All I did was put in some parameters, and then put in calculations of possible surprises. As I said I won't know all that the computer will toss at us. Also I am interested in the different histories." she stood up and took Remy by the hand. "I belonged with a historical group which explored the different facets of history, like this particular set up. Learning how to make soaps, or churn butter. Even the fashions of this time period, and after. The thing I like about this outfit is that it is serviceable but also pretty. And also if I wanted to wear pants, I wouldn't be looked down upon. Well if I were living back in this time." Autumn stated.

"I see, you are a bundle of surprises yourself." Dodd smiled at her after the comment about her outfit being serviceable as he had an idea of servicing her but this was only their second date. "I am glad you set up the parameters to allow yourself to be surprised as it will add to our overall experience." Dodd then allowed her to lead him to what her desired location was.

The maypole dancing went well, the colorful ribbons being woven together then unwoven. When it was over, Autumn came over to wrap her arms around Remy, her cheeks flush with color from the dance and her eyes sparkling and radiant from the fun she had.

The other dancers soon left to get back to eating, Autumn looked at Remy. "Shall we take a walk and look around? I am curious what might be around here. What do you think."

"I am up for that as the company on the walk would be worth it alone." Remy replied as he was feeling like she was starting to meld with his way of thinking and she was not even telepathic.

Autumn gave a sunny smile and took Remy's hand. "Well I can say, I love the company I am keeping." giving Remy a quick kiss and then started walking away from the village with him. "This place is beautiful, the air crisp and I like it." She looked up towards where the sun was filtering through the trees, then looked around. The path that they were taking would curve to the right, and the sound of a babbing brook could be heard. It sounded lovely to hear and caught Autumn's attention. "Care to go see that? It might be a lovely piece of scenery. Maybe even see some wildlife, that would be awesome."

"That would be enjoyable." Remy stated firmly as he was contemplating a type of wildlife he knew needed to be reigned in until a later point in time. "I have never been to Norway when I have been to Earth, but something about this program is making feel like I am in the northern province back on Betazed and it is the very first part of spring and all the crispness of nature is waking up from winter."

Remy was feeling more and more comfortable with Autumn. He had never had this sort of pull towards a non-telepathic woman before. He was enjoying the fact that she able clue in on his interests and yet she could not read his thoughts. He also liked how her mind was not like other regular humans or non-telepaths. He liked the mental organization she held and how her thoughts were not as random and free to read as others.

"Well, if we see any wildlife, I will be sure to defend my lady and hold up my honor." Remy said as he was attempting to be in character for the era that was programed for the date.

Autumn could hear the nostalgia in Remy's voice, and looking into his eyes, she could tell that he was happy. "I am glad this brings good memories. This reminds me of camping trips I've gone on, before I got into the academy. It was great fun waking up and stepping out of the tent, to see the first vestiges of the sun just starting to announce its arrival, the top portion of the mountain having that glow of a new day. "

Around the bend and there before them was a babbling stream, moving around some stones, the sunlight just hitting it just right to add a magical glow to the water as it moved around the objects in its way. Autumn stepped forward holding out her hand as if to allow the sunbeam dance upon the palm of her hand, whilst the sun made her auburn hair look radiant.

The radiance of Autumn in the sun made Remy wish they were on a much later date than the second one. He was feeling something deep within. He looked at the beauty that was before him and got a small tear in his eye as he momentarily recalled Iria in a mental vision. As he realized at that moment he was seeing Iria in Autumn and that sort of made him happy. He was enjoying the bonding process with Autumn and knew he would be happy moving at her pace to make this relationship work. "My dear, you are so radiant in this moment." Remy stated to Autumn. "You are the fairest of them all and if I was to ask a mirror on the wall, it would agree."

Autumn's cheeks grew warm as it seemed to do very often when Remy would pay her a compliment as they were certainly sincere and not idle flattery. She turned to look at him and her mouth just dropped open. The very same sun that caused her to look radiant, made Remy look rather heroic.

"Oh gosh, you look even more handsome and so dreamy." Autumn breathed out softly, moving towards the broad shouldered, well toned, gorgeous Remy.

As Autumn moved towards him, from the other side of the stream, the ground seemed to erupt upwards as two individuals came out of the ground. They were broad shouldered, covered with dirt, they had been laying in wait for some unsuspecting persons to come to where they were at.

Autumn gasped as she reached Dodd's side turning around. "Oh gosh, a raiding party?"

Without hesitation, Remy swiftly got between the two raiders and Autumn and drew his sword. "I got you, my maiden. I will fend off these hooligans and earn my honor with you."

Dodd took down the first one and was working to un-arm the second. The program had adjusted and thus the second one was a little more of a brute. There were also what looked to be at least three other raiders coming from a path in the woods.

"You are already earning my honor, I would like to know though, how swift can you run? We're going to have to be clever in dealing with those other three." Autumn said, as she was calculating the distance between herself, Remy and those coming in. Seeing that the brute had been adjusted, Autumn spoke quietly. "I think it is time to play slightly dirty." then she crouched down and picked up some debris in one hand from where they were near.

"Clever my dear, very clever." Remy replied as he was fighting with the one raider. "I will be done here in a moment and maybe we can lead them away into the woods further from the village. Remy then unbuckled his cape to allow him more flexibility, and then thrusted his sword into the raider.

The three raiders then became five as two more emerged from the woods behind the second three. So two were down and the computer made five more. "I think the adjustments are set to hydra settings. We need to make a move."

"So it seems, I don't recall adding that in but I did add, surprise us. I need to next time, do some limitations. " giving a wry smile. "However, I think you and I can beat this." Autumn remarked. "Especially with your engineering and ingenuity skills. Much like the hydra that Heracles had fought, kill one and more pop up." Autumn held Remy's cape her mind starting to think of different ways to stop the raiders without killing them. "Maybe find a way to trap them?" Autumn prepared to run alongside Remy.

Remy, sensing Autumn was ready to follow, took off running into the woods that led away from the village. Knowing the holodeck source programing he took a chance that it recreated a specific segment of Norway and if he was right there would be a cave up ahead as the river looked familiar from another program he was in not too long ago. Not wanting to say anything out loud so the computer could not adapt to anything stated. He ran into the woods.

"Follow me I have an idea and I hope I can prove my hypotenuse." Remy stated. "If I am right we have a way to fix this situation.

Autumn gave a nod, following Remy's lead. A couple of times she almost tripped but was able to recover and continue on. She didn't even look back behind then well not now anyway, her almost losing her footing was due to looking behind them to see if they were being followed. She decided to concentrate on following Remy. When they arrived to where he was heading, she glanced back this time, to see if they were going to be catching up. Autumn thought she had caught a glimpse of their pursuers in the distance.

"Okay ready when you are." was all she stated, Autumn not wanting to give the program any hints of what may come about.

In front of the couple was a steep sided ravine that was not climbable. Remy studied the area and found the spot he was looking for. He then appeared to step on the thin air. There was a rocky path the appeared to be invisible due to natural camoflauge. He reached back for Autumn and offered his hand to guide her across the virtually invisible plank so they could get to the other side.

Autumn noticed the set up, and was really grateful for the hand Remy offered, this was thrilling as well as nervewracking feeling her heart beating rapidly. She felt calmness though permeate her being due to the strong warm hand of Remy.

Meanwhile the raiders were approaching. Luckily Autumn and Remy had made it across and moved to not be by the plank.

Remy whispered in Autumn's ear. "Lay down on the ground and act like you are in pain. I will go a little further down and see if I can't get them to charge us and all fall into the ravine." Remy then gave Autumn a kiss on her cheek. "This will be fun." Then he moved a few feet further away from her and the plank.

Autumn gave a rather convincing performance, she 'slipped' and acted like she had twisted her ankle, tears pouring down her cheeks, and whimpering.

The raiders did just like Remy thought. As they came into view and saw the couple they charged and not realizing there was an edge all five plummeted into the ravine. Since they were not technically slayed with sword the program did not regenerate because they were still in essence in the program.

"It worked!" Remy excitingly stated and he ran back to Autumn to help her up from the ground. "I knew this setting looked a little familiar and glad the parameters were still the same."

As soon as the raiders fell to their deaths, Autumn's tears and whimpers stopped abruptly and the redhead hugged Remy once she was off the ground. "That was amazing! You are amazing!" then she kissed him.

In her enthusiasm of her kiss, Autumn forgot about the slight decline of the area they were at, away from the cliff, she stumbled forward losing her balance, sending both her and Remy to the ground, Autumn landing on top of him.

Remy could not hold back any longer and he wrapped his arms around the beauty and pulled her in for a passionate kiss that was sure to warm the air around them with the flames of his desires for Autumn. The velvet touch of her plump lips against his was making him long for more from the relationship. He as so attracted to her that he was about to lose control of himself.

Autumn could feel the change in Remy's kisses, realizing she may have ignited the flames of desire in him even more and she was feeling the same. Just not yet, she didn't know how he'd react to something she loved to do. She could tell him about it, but Autumn felt she would need to show him instead. This was going to be so difficult to stop the sweet fiery kisses from Remy and her own desires.

A sudden wind kicked up as what would happen in the mountains. Unexpected storms would often spring up without warning, and this was no exception. A brilliant flash of light split the sky, the sound of shattering wood as a bolt of lightning split a tree asunder, raining splinters of wood everywhere. What followed a split second after was a heavy downpour, which was icy cold. Autumn gasped out pulling her lips away from his, as it hit her back. This certainly cooled her passions off quickly, the rain pelting her back, and soaking through.

With a regretful expression, Autumn moved to roll off from on top of Remy.

Once Autumn rolled off of Remy, the cold rain put out his fire of desire. While he liked cold water, he was clothed and that ruined the mood, but he needed to get Autumn out of the rain so he sprang up. There is a small cave just over here, let's get you inside. I will look for some kindling to try to get a fire for you." Remy then stepped foot further into the cave and found some small twigs and sticks that were dry. He gathered them and assembled a small fire and was able to get Autumn warmed up. "Hope this helps some."

"Oh it indeed does help out immensely." Autumn replied holding out her hands towards the warmth of the fire. "I've done the polar bear dip, I just wasn't prepared for such cold water." giving a small laugh. "So... next date after the mission we're going on, it will be your turn." a soft and gentle upturned corners of her mouth. "I hope you've been enjoying this date. I know I have been. You are so creative and I loved what you had done to thwart the programming. "

"As the former engineer, I know several of the loopholes in the matrix of the hologrid and how it repurposes the programs in the memory to create other requested programs and I took a chance that it was a recreated use of one of those programs I used before." Remy stated. "Glad you are having fun and I am having a blast and really enjoying this time with you."

"I am indeed enjoying being with you, Remy." Autumn responded with an affectionate smile.

There was a tone that chimed in the midst of their discussion, Autumn's eyes went to the ceiling when she heard it. "Looks like our time is up for this date on the holosuite." she looked out towards where the rain raged, gave a little bit of a sigh as for the moment their time together was at an end for this date.

"This was a great date for me, I hope you enjoyed yourself as you did a great job in creation of the date." Remy replied. " I am looking forward to more time with you as you are wonderful companionship and you seem to enjoy adventures."

"I do enjoy adventures, and just having someone to enjoy them with is so wonderful. I also like to do other activities, like a concert, or a movie. Even go star gazing." Autmun giving a smile. "I am ever fascinated by just spending time with you. You are intriguing, have many layers to you. I feel good when I am with you, and around you and also catch a glimpse of you."

Blushing a little, Remy had a slight smile form on his face, the word 'glimpse' always made him feel like someone saw him when they should not have and he was sort of an exhibitionist due to his preference of always being naked when possible. "Well maybe someday you will get much more than a glimpse as I enjoy the time I spend with you and have this longing to have you more involved in my life." Remy then reached out to pull Autumn into his embrace to engage her in a passionate kiss.

Autumn melted into his embrace, enjoying the sensation of him kissing her. This was so heavenly!

A voice echoing through the room coming from the archway. "Hello? Time is up, may we have a turn here?"

Autumn reluctanly pulled away, giving a slight giggle. "Dang it. Another interruption. There will come a time when we won't get interrupted, hopefully." giving a slightly impish wink at Remington. She could feel her own yearnings deep within her soul. One more date his planning, then there was hers. Will he be accepting of her hobby? She truly hoped so, as Autumn truly wanted to be with him.

Trying to collect himself, Remy understood that they both needed to get out of the holodeck and get back to reality. "Maybe next date, we can return back here and attempt to finish this wonderful adventure or maybe something a little different. I will see when we can get a holodeck again that is convenient for both of our schedules." Remy then smiled at Autumn, "But as XO, I could trump the schedule but if I abused my power, no one would respect me." Remy stated as he picked up his cape.

"Computer save program for future use by Ensign Cole or myself." The computer chimed. "Computer end program and open arch."

Autumn gave a nod, getting in one last embrace before they left the holosuite. "I can scarcely wait for our next date, Remy" a soft and gentle smile. "And as I had said, man of quality."

Remy enjoyed the embrace from Autumn. "You have formed a strong foundation in my heart." He then took her hand and started towards the exit. "Until we have our next adventure." And the couple exited into the corridor and departed for their individual quarters.
