Chris and Lamia's Wedding Day

- Lamia’s/Kildares Shared Quarters -

The morning of the wedding had finally arrived, and Lamia was hoping her stomach would soon settle, to say she had butterflies was an understatement, though having morning sickness was more of a worry. “I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous!” She nibbled on some ginger biscuits as Autumn helped with her hair.

Autumn softly chuckled, "You will be okay on this Mia, you are beautiful. And I know that Remy will agree with me on this. And you are going to just knock the socks off of Chris." giving a light-hearted giggle.

“Am I supposed to be this nervous though?” Lamia offered a wry smile. “I thought I’d be fine, but I’m terrified!” She looked towards the door as she sensed an arrival outside. “Looks like Remy is here. I can sense him.”

"Being nervous is all a part of it, from what I have been told," Autumn replied soothingly. She looked towards the door, where Lamia was looking.

Dodd arrived outside Arderne's quarters and paused. He could feel the nervousness of his best friend and he had to shuffle the emotions as to remain a strong presence to help keep her as calm as possible. He made the motion to signal the chime.

“Come in Remy!” Lamia called from where she sat. She took a deep breath knowing she’d be pouring her emotions out at him.

Autumn had a brilliant smile when she heard Lamia call out to Remy, she could see firsthand the deep feelings that Mia had for Remy. She wasn't jealous, she had spoken to them both about the feelings Mia and Remy had for each other.

As Dodd entered the quarters, he was in awe of the beauty that stood before him. Mia in a daringly beautiful gown that made him feel the deep love he held for her but always fought it off as he knew she was spoken for.

"What a stunning view, you make Mia," Remy stated firmly and he then held his hands clasped together at his waist to attempt to hide his true emotions from the room.

Lamia couldn’t help but pick up on the emotions Remington was trying to keep buried. That, and the effect seeing her dressed this way was having on him. She smiled a wry but didn’t comment, especially with Autumn in the room.

"Hello, Beautiful" Dodd stated as he looked at Autumn. "I am beside myself with two gorgeous gals in the same room," Dodd stated as he approached Autumn and leaned in to kiss her cheek.

Autumn's cheeks glowed pink, she returned the kiss to Remy on his cheek. She then turned a shy look towards Lamia, just beaming with happiness.

“The two of you make a lovely couple” Lamia smiled warmly, she was happy for Remy having found happiness with Autumn.

"Well, when I saw her the first time across the lounge after she came aboard, I just knew there was something about her," Remy replied. "She has become special to me," Remy added as he kissed her too on the cheek.

Autumn grinned, then gave a hug to both of them and then stepped back to check on Lamia's make-up and hair once more. "It looks like you are ready to go, Lamia. I am excited!"

“You and me both!” Lamia smiled despite her butterflies. “Let’s get going.”

"Yes, we will make the butterflies settle down as we walk the corridors to the holosuite," Dodd stated as he stepped out of the quarters to escort the bride and bride's maids to the ceremony.

- Sharpe’s Temporary Quarters -

For the Wedding Chris had been invited to use the spare room that Paul Sharpe and his Wife had while they were at the station, Alex had gone out to speak to Jasmine her Cousin. Now Chris was fretting and running around like a blue-assed fly or headless chicken as he tried to locate an adornment for his dress uniform, Paul was sitting back watching with some amusement.

"Oh boy does this take me back years!" He said, Kildare stopped rushing around and shot a dirty look at him.

"Really Paul! Are you laughing at me, first I find out Mia is expecting which throws me for a loop, and then I mention getting married sooner rather than later, I was still in shock at the time, but I am glad I managed to get word to Captain Somers about time and date, still I had no idea you were like me on your wedding day, I thought that Vulcan schooling you had helped!" Kildare intoned as he was having trouble with the top button on his dress uniform.

*Laughing* "You are right, your response here is just bloody hilarious that is all come here!" Sharpe said standing up and helping Kildare with his top button.

"Should you not get ready Paul, after all, it will not do if my second is not ready to stand with me!" Chris said.

Paul sobered up nodded and left to get changed into his dress uniform, it was sometime after the pair were fully dressed when Alex entered and reared back, "Oh my don't you pair look handsome!" she exclaimed as she rushed into the back rooms to change, it was at least thirty more minutes then out came a smartly dressed Alex.

She wore a knee-length Navy Blue Skirt with cream coloured blouse and a short jacket that went with the rest of her outfit, she had Pearl danglers in her ears and a bracelet to match them, and her hair was neatly styled in a style reminiscent of the mid-1940s, she had 3-inch black court shoes on she wore plain coloured stockings, her made-up face was impeccable as was her nails.

"Wow Alex, you look great, still going with the vintage Retro style huh!" Kildare said with a smile.

"Yup always have and always will" Alex responded.

*Looks at Sharpe* "You know Paul I am always amazed at how short a time it takes your wife to get changed into such clothes" Kildare said in amazement.

"Well I am a Diplomat's daughter and you are taught to make quick changes in attire, I may not do diplomacy well but I still have the training" Alex answered for her husband who simply sighed in resignation.

"Okay let's head to the holodeck, we have to get there before the bride," Sharpe said and with Alex on his arm, Sharpe led the way out of the quarters and straight to the nearest turbolift.

- Holosuite 2 Cathedral -

For this Jasmine was in her dress uniform and she was being advised on her duties by her Yeoman Lucy Armitage "You are so lucky you do not have to do this Lucy, other ship Commanders made it look easy, but it is anything but" Jasmine said.

"I think you are more nervous than the bride and groom Captain, I cannot understand why, it is not like you want to get married and have children!" Lucy then realised her misspoken words about children, the pain and sadness in the Captain's eyes was plain to see, for some reason the Captain was unable to have children and not even current medicine could cure that. "Sorry Captain" Lucy said and got a small smile from Jasmine who sat down.

"Why do people always assume I want to remain single and not have kids? I would love both those things, but I will ever only be able to have one of those things" Somers said and looked up at the noise of the doors opening, she put on a smile.

"Wow Alex you look great, and both of you guys look handsome, from the looks of you three only one of you is like a cat on hot bricks" Jasmine said and all looked at Kildare.

"Dammit you guys, you are not helping things, any news on Lamia, yet?" Kildare asked.

All shook their heads but took up their spots and remained talking while they waited.

Arriving outside the holodeck Lamia looked at Remington. “Am I late? I didn’t plan on being late!” She was stressing and she knew it. A deep breath later she took hold of Remington’s arm ready for her walk down the aisle.

Mazal was awaiting the arrival of Lamia, she was standing where one of Lamia's maids of honour would be standing. She barely made it in time for the ceremony. She had donned a light lavender dress which went down to her ankles, with matching dangling earrings, her hair loose and flowing. Mazal wanted to dress, to be more of a foil for Lamia, as it was Mia's day to be married to the man she loved.

Dodd and Arderne arrived outside the holodeck doors which would be the doors to the cathedral on the inside. Sensing her nerves, Dodd simply stated.

"My dear, you are not late as you are the centrepiece of the event so you are on time no matter what you think," Remy commented to Mia. "Besides, one look at you and everyone in the room would never realize you are late, which you are not as we are right on schedule."

Lamia nodded as she centred herself, she couldn’t be a nervous wreck walking down the aisle. “Alright, let’s do this!” She held onto Remington’s arm as the music started to play and the doors opened for her to walk down the aisle.

As the doors opened, Dodd thought of a calming lullaby to mentally hum so Lamia could hear it and remain calm as they walked down the aisle. He was so honoured to be the one to give Lamia away on this special day. The pride he felt for her was overwhelming now.

Both Autumn and Mazal thought Lamia was looking very beautiful, and Chris was a lucky man to have such a lovely woman. Heck both of them thought that Lamia was lucky as well. However, their thoughts also went to the ones they cherished. Autumn looked at Remy, sighing at how dreamy he looked.

Mazal thought of Tosrol, her face lighting up.

As they walked down the aisle Lamia’s eyes were firmly fixed on Chris, he looked so handsome standing there waiting for her, and she couldn’t wait to be at his side.

Sharpe was his Best Man and now stood with Chris at the Altar when the organ began to play they looked at the back of the room and coming down the isle was Lamia all in white with a veil down and Commander Dodd escorting her, Chris grabbed Paul's arm in shock at the sight heading towards him.

Paul looked at Chris and was a little shocked as his arm was grabbed he wondered why and looked in Kildare's direction where he was looking and saw the ship's Chief Counsellor all in white being escorted down the aisle by the ship's First Officer, she was a sight.

From the benches Alex stood as the wedding march started, Lucy the Captain's Yeoman had put the rings on a soft small cushion and waited patiently for the bride to arrive.

Eventually, the bride arrived and stood next to Kildare, and both held each other's hands out as Dodd and Sharpe stood on the groom's side. Jasmine grabbed her cane and stood, a ceremony PADD in hand, she steadied herself as she inhaled.

"Since the days of the first wooden sailing ships, all captains have enjoyed the happy privilege of joining together two people in the bonds of matrimony. And so it is my honour to unite you, Lamia Arderne, and you, Christopher Kildare, together in matrimony, Chris takes the ring and places it on Lamia's finger and repeats' Your name and Take this ring. I thee Wed you Lamia Arderne, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health I promise thee" Jasmine said.

Alex inhaled Chris was all grown up, she glanced at Paul and both shared a memory as their eyes met.

Taking the ring made for Mia's finger he slides it on "I Christopher Kildare, take this ring. I thee Wed you Lamia Arderne, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health I promise thee" Chris said.

"Lamia Arderne using your name please repeat" Jasmine said looking at Lamia.

Lamia smiled as she took the ring before gently sliding it on Chris’ finger. I Lamia Arderne, take this ring. I thee Wed you Christopher Kildare, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health I promise thee.” Her smile said it all as their eyes met.

Looking at the pair and around the room "If there is any reason as to why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace" Jasmine said and waited a few moments, but no one said anything "Then by the power invested in me I now pronounce you both Man and Wife, you may kiss the bride" Jasmine finished.

Kildare lifted Lamia's veil and kissed her as Jasmine said.

Lamia returned her new husband’s kiss with fire getting a little carried away, having to remind herself that they had an audience. She smiled as she drew back, holding onto Chris’ hand.

Dodd was so happy for Arderne. He was moved and knew that she was happy with Kildare. He knew that she would always be a good friend to him regardless.

Mazal was sincerely and truly happy for this union. "Congratulations!" she exclaimed with a smile.

Autumn, had waited for Remy to be done escorting Lamia down the aisle and was smiling as she had taken her place next to Mazal as part of the bride's party. She was also wishing she had thought of a bridal shower or even a bachelorette party. Well, maybe another sort of party can be worked on.

Alex and Lucy were applauding wildly as the newlyweds shared a passionate kiss.

Sharpe was applauding too as he rejoined his wife and they hugged, he looked at the pair that were holding hands and looking at each other oblivious to everything else.

"So Chris, you pair going on a holodeck honeymoon or what? I ask because if I know the Captain there will be one starting soon thus cutting down the time you will have" Sharpe asked and got a stern look from Jasmine he innocently said, "What'd I do!" and smiled.

Lamia looked at Chris, the question was a fair one. “I don’t mind what we do, there’s always next Shoreleave for a longer honeymoon if we don’t get one this time.”

*Smiling* "I will think of something, we will have to return to our quarters to get changed first," he said.

*Nodding and smiling* "Indeed we will, now we're returning home as Mr and Mrs Kildare."

Autumn walked over to Remy and wrapped her arm around his waist, leaning her head on his shoulder. This was a beautiful ceremony. Mazal took even more interest as she saw Autumn obviously in love with Remy. And it made Mazal happy to see that.
