When Thyra got her things and boarded the Andorian ship she was greeted by her father. She had never seen him like this. He was always happy to see her and the last time was before she went to the Tomcat. They had a very long hug, but this time something was off. She dropped her duffle bag on the floor. “Father?” She asked.

For him to come all the way here with a government-issued vessel, something must have happened.
He raised his head and she saw the tears in his eyes. In all her life she had never seen him crying. Oshral took a step towards her and reached out to her. His hand was trembling. Thyra rushed forward and took his hand with both her hands and then bowed her head as their antennae touched for a moment. Finally, he spoke. “My beautiful Thyra, it’s…it’s Syvi.”

“Syvi…what, where is she?” She let go of his hand and looked around. Oshral just pointed down the hallway. “Sickbay, this was the only way I could do it and that Starfleet could allow you this time off.”

Thyra didn’t think a second and ran past her father towards the sickbay. A few moments later she walked into sickbay and saw her sister lying on a bed. The young 12-year-old weekly turned her head to her older sister. Thyra lunged forward and took her sister's hand. “Syvi…what happened, what’s going on?”

Her sister smiled at her. “Thyra, you came.”
“Of course I did. But what’s going on?” Thyra patted her sister’s white hair. “Why are you here?”

An Andorian doctor and Oshral walked into the room. The doctor looked to Oshral. Oshral took a deep breath. “Syvi had an accident. The doctors did everything they could to save her, but her injuries are too severe, and on top of that she got an infection that we haven’t been able to find a cure for.”

Thyra got up. “What are you saying father, is she…please don’t say she is dying.” She couldn’t stop the tears that sprung in her eyes. Then she heard Syvi’s voice behind her. “Don’t cry, Thyra. You are here now. Everything is all right.” Thyra turned around and knelt down next to her bed. And not matter how are she tried she couldn’t hold back her tears. She took Syv’t’s hand again. “Yes, Syvi. I am here. You are such a brave girl, you know that?”

Syvi pulled her other hand up weakly and gently stroked Thyra’s hair. “Because you taught me to be brave,” she said with a whispering weak voice. “Remember the tiger…years before.” She smiled. “You came, you are here now. Everything is going to be alright…everything…” As Thyra wanted to get her other hand she heard a soft sigh as Syvi took her last breath. Her hand fell down lifeless in Thyra’s hand. Thyra looked at the lifeless body of her sister as her vision blurred from the tears that she couldn’t hold back anymore.

Oshral knelt down next to her and put his hand on her shoulder as she softly cried to, Thyra turned around and threw herself in her father’s arms. Syvi was the sibling she raised almost as her own child, so this hurt the most seeing her die. Oshral put his arms around Thyra. He loved all his children a lot. But he had a special place for Thyra being his firstborn child. It hurt losing Syvi, but it hurt even more to see Thyra so broken down. He then said softly, “She waited, she fought, held to every ounce of life she had left. She wanted to see you before she went. We knew she didn’t have long, we didn’t even know she could make the journey out here. But she wanted to see you. She was such a strong and brave girl. I am so proud of her. And I am so proud of you. Thank you for coming. I know how hard this is for you, but we will have to return her to Andorra Prime now. There isn’t much time.”

Thyra didn’t respond. She felt like she lost a precious child. And needed time to process this.
