Todd finished his workout in the Roosevelt Gym. It was sparse yet there was a full complement of officers using it, so he had help with sparring and the barbells.
Feeling his muscles aching, he turned the corner in the hallway and practically ran into 1st Lieutenant Falk. "Lieutenant. It is good to see you... You in a rush?" Hewitt had asked curiously.
"You are just the person I was hoping to run into, not neccessarily literally." Mazal giving a laugh. "I have something that I need perception on from an engineering point of viewl"
"Good, I was just about to grab a morning Tea we can chat about things, Engineering, you say?" Hewitt always enjoyed picking at his engineering mind. He learned a lot from Tomcat and was eager to put his theories into practical applications.
"Yes, tea sounds great." Mazal catching sight of her hair in a mirror smoothed it down, or tried to do so. "Anyway once we get our tea then I can tell you." walking alongside Todd.
When they got the tea and had settled down somewhere to drink it. Mazal took a sip before she began speaking.
"I am going to need some help, from engineering. I need to make a few anesthizene gas 'bombs" so to speak, to help take over a few stations that the Marines are having to go inside of. Plus hack into the mainframe to get control of life support. Just all the details I need an expert to get that plan happening. Think you can come up with something?" Mazal having a hopeful expression in her eyes.
"Does this exactly have to involve anesthizene gas?" Todd then took a drink from his tea, now understanding the engineering point of view. "What about Hydrazine? It does the same thing, but on a less contained pressurized sphere."
"Well I wanted to knock people out especially if there are innocents involved. Its put them asleep then sort people out." Mazal remarked.
Hewitt wondered, "due to SPI, the spheres would be able to hold, and the type of alloy used. The bombs would need to explode and dissipate easily; I take, and from a G&N Sub processor?"
Mazal looked a little confused as to the G&N sub processor. "Okay I need to know what you mean by that. My brain isn't computing that abbreviation."
"What type of suit and armory are you wearing? All covered, insulated? What type of systems will you be infiltrating? If you have a harmonic array with a sub-graviton emitter, the computers could be wiped and set into an administrator mode, and you could wipe all you need clean." He offered. Although still determining what Falk's actual plans were now. He smiled. He enjoyed being Engineering helpful.
"What we will be wearing is the standard ev suits given to the Marines. And what you are saying is the reason why I wanted to talk to engineering for help. I can rig explosives but the big deal is not losing lives of the innocents. I aim to not have this as bloody as some feel it may need to be. We have to consider prisoners and not have them be as what some call it, forseeable loss of lives. That will not be happening at all. Not on my watch. Yes will come into contact with those that will not be willing to go without a fight and I will protect those that are my people and those that are innocent. I will also kill if need be." Mazal stated.
"I understand. Completely." Hewitt affirmed in a slow nod. "Ok. Antesthazine gas would be the best usage then. The balls can be coordinated with your standard suit controls, which I call a G&N subprocessor. No worries there. It should be an easy go. I get the supplies to the Engineering replicators, have the gasses initialized, and the ball taps set. They should do the job when you need to take out, or rather, incapacitate intruders, bad-guys all be it and not have any deaths on your hands." Hewitt nodded.
Todd sipped the last of his tea. "I am sure you need this ASAP?" Considering it might be used on the Rosenthall.
"Yes, a soon as possible plus I need an engineer to be in a shuttle to help jump marines from one spot to the next and also break into the lifesupport system of some orbital stations to help us take them back with out too much life loss. Sadly there will be people who will be resistant to the anesthezine gas which will mean other things happening." Mazal giving a slight sigh.
Hewitt had punched in the orders on his padd already. "I have the engineering replicators already crafting the spheres as we speak. I will check in on them after this, and they should then be ready to initialize the gasses." He paused, looked out the side of the window, and then back to Mazal.
"You got it. I want to help. Whatever I can do. A jump ship coordination you say?" Hewitt's face grimaced in thought and nodded. Tapping in some notes into his padd. "Environmental systems are easier to dismantle, so that shouldn't be an issue."
"What kind of fire power will I need?" Todd was relieved that he recently had tactical training completed.
"The shuttles will be needing the ability for warp and have their own armaments just in case some foolish Pirates decide to shoot at you or whoever you will be utilizing to help do the island hopping" Mazal paused for a moment to rub her temples, just taking a moment to let her head catch up to what was happening. She got up and went to the replicator and ordered another tea but this time with cayenne pepper in it. Mazal needed something to get her head back into gear.
Hewitt began to think. “I should be ok with Ensign Reynolds. He has experience with Jump Operations before in a Frengi hostage operation a few years back. It went well.”
“It will be ok.” Tod insisted. “The jump operation is going to work. You can cross it off your long list of concerns, Mazal.” Hewitt was looking across available armament and jump, warp capability crafts that he could commandeer from the Roosevelt. Few and far between, but only one to do the job was needed. Tod watched as she collected her thoughts, face, and eyes and took the warming, soothing sips of the cayenne tea.
"Thank you Todd, what you have done is very helpful indeed. I will be very glad when we get this whole mission done. " Mazal sighed slightly. "I will be calling for a briefing tommorrow and I would like you to be there. Definitely need to get everyone updated and such."
"I will be pulling together some extra burnt-out phaser banks I saw in storage. They're easy to recycle and get running again. Along with a burnt-out photon cannon." He scratched at the side of his head, Todd is curious. "Ok. So, yeah. I will get on this and meet you at the time you send." He smiled at Mazal.
"I agree." The words both seemed ethereal and life to their own yearns. "I want this over as well. I want to get back to the Tomcat." Hewitt grunted.
Mazal drank the last of her cayenne tea, and gave Todd an solemn nod, "Okay after this mission I am hoping we all have a really good break, we all are going to be needing this." she looked at the time and groaned slightly. "Time for me to get back to it on the other parts and also try to get some sleep."
"Sleep is good. So is getting this over with." Hewitt replied with an eager nod and sly grin.
